Tawar Umbi Wada
Tawar Umbi Wada (1957–2010) was elected Senator for the Gombe South constituency of Gombe State, Nigeria, taking office on 29 May 2003, and reelected in 2007. He was a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Wada was born on 27 January 1957. Idris Abubakar
Idris Abubakar (1955–2002) was elected Senator for the Gombe South constituency of Gombe State, Nigeria at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic, running on the All People's Party (APP) platform. He took office on 29 May 1999. Life Abubakar was born on 13 November 1955 in Gombe State. He became a barrister at law, and was principal partner of Idris Abubakar & Co with offices in Bauchi and Lagos states. He was a member of the House of Representatives during the aborted Nigerian Third Republic (1992–1993). After taking his seat in the Senate in June 1999, he was appointed to committees on Rules & Procedures, Solid Minerals, Banking & Currency, Water Resources, Privatization and Local & Foreign Debts (chairman). Gombe State
Gombe State ( ff, Leyddi Gommbe 𞤤𞤫𞤴𞤣𞤭 𞤺𞤮𞤥𞥆𞤦𞤫) is a state in northeastern Nigeria, bordered to the north and northeast by the state of Borno and Yobe, to the south by Taraba State, to the southeast by Adamawa State, and to the west by Bauchi State. The University of Jos, abbreviated as Unijos, is a Federal University in Jos, Plateau State, central Nigeria. History What became the University of Jos was established in November 1971 from the satellite campus of the University of Ibadan. The first students were admitted in January 1972 as pre-degree students and the first Bachelor of Arts degree program began in October 1973. In October 1975, the then military government under General Murtala Mohammed established the Unijos as a separate institution. The first Vice-Chancellor of the Unijos was Professor Gilbert Onuaguluchi.
