Tawag Ng Tanghalan (film)
''Tawag ng Tanghalan'' (, abbreviated TNT) is a 1953 Philippine amateur singing competition currently airing as a segment of the noon time program, '' It's Showtime'' on ABS-CBN. It airs on the Kapamilya Channel, a simulcast on A2Z, GMA Network, it's sister channel GTV and Jeepney TV ( encore telecast) as well as on online streaming platforms such as Facebook and YouTube via ''Showtime Online Ü'' and '' Kapamilya Online Live'' every Monday to Saturday. Dubbed as "Your All-Time Favorite Search for Outstanding Amateur Talents", the competition is open to Filipino contestants from Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and overseas. The show first aired on January 2, 2016, and was successfully continuing its fame for the next seven regular seasons, two kids editions, one celebrity edition, one all-star edition, and one duets edition. The second season of '' Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids'' was an amateur singing competition that currently airs as a segment of the noontime show '' It's Showtime'' that premiered on January 29, 2024. Dubbed as ''"Your all time favorite search for outstanding amateur talents"'', the competition is open to Filipino child contenders from Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The season concluded on April 20, 2024. Kim Hewitt ended up winning the season with the closest margin to date (of 0.1%), making him the first winner of all ''Tawag ng Tanghalan'' editions to enter the finals and win via the ''Resbak'' rounds (''Resbakbakan'' for this season) and with the least number of performances to win (with only six competitive performances), while Dylan Genicera was declared the runner-up. Rey Valera
Reynaldo Valera Guardiano, better known as Rey Valera (born 4 May 1954), is a Filipino singer, songwriter, music director, film scorer and television host. He wrote and produced songs that were recorded by various singers, most notably Sharon Cuneta. He was a judge of the singing contest ''Sing Galing!''. He was a former head judge of the singing contest segment "Tawag ng Tanghalan" in a variety noontime show '' It's Showtime''. He is the cousin of former Abra Governor Vicente P. Valera.
