Taula Del Sénia
The Taula del Sénia () or Mancomunitat de la Taula del Sénia is a commonwealth or free association of municipalities made up of 22 towns, totalling up to 100,000 people, of some of the comarcas that make up the center of the historical region of Ilercavonia (present day southern Aragon and Catalonia, and northern Valencia), Spain. The origin of the name lies in the fact that all municipal terms involved are located within 15 km of the Sénia River, perceived as the centre of the region in its upper course. Goals The Taula del Sénia's main purpose is to alleviate the historical neglect of this greater comarca by managing its public municipal resources meaningfully. The organization of the municipalities in a mancomunidad may allow the region to achieve the necessary legal recognition for its administrative development. In present-day Spain a ''mancomunidad'' ( an, mancomunidat, ast, mancomunidá, ca, mancomunitat, gl, mancomunidade, eu, mankomunitatea; in English language, English "commonwealth" or municipal association) is an association of municipalities of Spain, municipalities voluntarily established by some municipalities with the aim of carrying out joint projects or providing common services. A ''mancomunidad'' is a legal personality, and can exist either for a particular period to achieve a concrete goal or can exist indefinitely. Benicarló
Benicarló () is a city and municipality in the north of the province of Castelló, part of the Valencian Community, in the Mediterranean Coast between the cities of Vinaròs and Peníscola, not too far south from the Ebre River. Tourism, agriculture and some manufacturing are the major industries. Benicarló is part of the Taula del Sénia free association of municipalities. Godall
Godall is a municipality in the Montsià comarca, Tarragona Province, Catalonia, Spain. Godall gives its name to the Serra de Godall, a moderately high and smooth calcareous mountain range that rises above the town. Local legend says that the village originated when people built a new settlement after abandoning the destroyed village of Merades, located within Godall's municipal term. The main economic activity is agriculture, particularly the growing of olive, carob, and almond trees. Godall has lost more than half its inhabitants since the first half of the 20th century when population reached a high of 1,700. Freginals
Freginals is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Montsià in Catalonia, Spain. This town is located on a hill between the northern end of the Serra de Godall and the Serra del Montsià, not far from the forking of the roads between Tortosa, Ulldecona and Amposta. The area around the town has ancient passages of transhumant cattle herders known locally as lligallos. The RENFE railway line from Valencia to Tortosa used to have a railway station in this town before 1990, but the station is now closed. Alcanar
Alcanar () is a Spanish municipality of the Catalan comarca of Montsià, in the Tarragona province. It is a coastal town on the Mediterranean Sea. The Serra del Montsià range and its foothills rise above the town and its surroundings. According to data from 2006 its population is 9,620 inhabitants, although this increased the next year, to 9,969. Valderrobres () or Vall-de-roures () is a municipality and the major town of the ''comarca'' of Matarraña in the province of Teruel, Aragon (Spain). It is located in view of the landscape of the northwestern foothills of the Ports de Tortosa-Beseit, by the Matarranya River, a tributary to the right of the Ebro. Beseit
Beceite () or Beseit () is a municipality located in the Matarraña/Matarranya comarca, province of Teruel, Aragon, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 603 inhabitants. It is part of the Taula del Sénia free association of municipalities. This town gives its name to the Ports de Beseit massive limestone mountain range rising around it. It belongs to the Catalan-speaking strip in eastern Aragon known as La Franja. There are many derelict paper mills in Beseit, reminders of what used to be an industrial town. One of the main products was card stock, which was exported for manufacturing playing cards. The former mills were powered by the water of the Matarranya River and its tributaries. Some of them have been converted into hotels catering for rural tourism. Vinaròs
Vinaròs () is a city located in eastern Spain and the capital of the Baix Maestrat in the province of Castelló. It is in the border between the Valencian Country and Catalonia. Vinaròs is a fishing harbour and tourist destination. History The first historical record of Vinaròs is in 1233, when the Moorish hamlet of ''Binarlaros-Ibn Arus'' in eastern al-Andaluz was captured by King James I of Aragon. Traiguera is a town and municipality in the Baix Maestrat comarca, province of Castelló, Valencian Community, Spain. It is part of the Taula del Sénia free association of municipalities.
