Tatana Island
Tatana Island is located in the National Capital District of Papua New Guinea. Located in the North-West electorate of Port Moresby. The island is about in area, and consists of a single hilly rise some by in size. All the settlement on the island is concentrated in a strip of buildings along the northern shore, simply known as Tatana. This settlement is connected to the mainland by an artificial causeway built by the United States Army during World War II, which carries a road link. Tatana Island Causeway
Tatana Sterba (born October 7, 1976 in Uherské Hradiště, Czechoslovakia (now in the Czech Republic) as ''Taťána Štěrbová'' (), in 1980 the family emigrated to Switzerland) is a dance music, dance and Trance music, trance record producer, producer better known under her alias Tatana. Tatana is one of the most successful artists of the 2000s in the Switzerland, Swiss charts, with several successful trance music, trance albums since her debut album ''24 Carat'' was released in February 2000. Tatana's Swiss chart debut came in May 1999, with the release of the single "End Of Time", a collaboration with DJ Energy. The single was not a chart success, but put her on the map in the Swiss trance genre. The No. 14 single "More Than Words – Street Parade Hymn '99" followed, along with "Dream Off" and then her early 2000 debut album. National Capital District (Papua New Guinea)
The National Capital District of Papua New Guinea is the incorporated area around Port Moresby, which is the capital of Papua New Guinea. Although it is surrounded by Central Province, where Port Moresby is also the capital, it is technically not a part of that province. It covers an area of 240 km2 and has a population of 364,125 (2011 census). It is represented by three open MPs and an NCD-wide representative in the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea who acts as Governor of the National Capital District; however, these MPs do not have the same powers as elsewhere in the country due to the role of the National Capital District Commission. (; Tok Pisin: ''Pot Mosbi''), also referred to as Pom City or simply Moresby, is the capital and largest city of Papua New Guinea. It is one of the largest cities in the southwestern Pacific (along with Jayapura) outside of Australia and New Zealand. It is located on the shores of the Gulf of Papua, on the south-western coast of the Papuan Peninsula of the island of New Guinea. The city emerged as a trade centre in the second half of the 19th century. During World War II, it was a prime objective for conquest by the Imperial Japanese forces during 1942–43 as a staging point and air base to cut off Australia from Southeast Asia and the Americas. Naval Base Port Moresby was a United States Navy base built during World War II at the city of Port Moresby on Papua New Guinea. The US Navy built a communication center and advance base headquarters for the US Seventh Fleet to support the Pacific War in 1943. The base was part of the New Guinea campaign.
