''Tasuke, the Samurai Cop'', known in Japanese as , is a manga series created by Manavu Kashimoto. It was adapted as an anime television series by Studio Pierrot broadcast in 22 episode on TV Tokyo (TX) from October 19, 1990 to March 22, 1991. Tasuke, a student at the Metropolitan Police Academy, wishes to become a top police officer and defeat the criminals of Edo City. Tesshō Genda
is a Japanese actor, voice actor and narrator. He is employed by the talent management firm 81 Produce. When he debuted, he used his real name, . as artist name. Because he had experience with ballet, he was known by the nickname "Pirouette Genda." Chieko Honda
was a Japanese actress and voice actress. During her life, she was attached to Tokyo Actor's Consumer's Cooperative Society and Mix Max; she was attached to Aoni Production at the time of her death. On 18 February 2013, Honda died of multiple forms of cancer while undergoing treatment. Shogakukan
