Tasmania Devils (NAB League)
The Tasmania Devils (also known as the Tassie Devils) is an Australian rules football club that competes in the NAB League Boys and NAB League Girls competitions. The team is made up of footballers based in Tasmania aged between 17 and 19 years of age, and competes against other representative teams based in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, as part of the Australian Football League's (AFL) talent pathway systems for male and female players. History The NAB League/TAC Cup competition has had a Tasmanian presence since 1995, when a team named the Tassie Mariners entered the boys league and competed until the end of the 2002 season. NAB League Boys
The NAB League Boys (also referred to as simply the NAB League and formerly known as the TAC Cup) is an under-19 Australian rules football representative competition held in Australia. It is based on geographic regions throughout country Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne with each team representing twelve Victorian regions, while a thirteenth team from Tasmania was reintroduced in 2019. The competition is sponsored by National Australia Bank (NAB), having previously been sponsored by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) since its inception. The competition is one of the primary sources of recruitment for Australian Football League (AFL) clubs. It provides an opportunity for talented regional players to participate in a high standard competition without having to relocate too far from their place of origin. Jackson Callow
Jackson Callow (born 11 June 2002) is a professional Australian rules footballer who most recently played with the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early career Jackson Callow is an Tasmanian who grew up in Launceston. Callow first came to notice as a junior at Prospect Hawks Junior Football Club. He played in the Club's NTJFA U13 premiership in his first season (2015) and then captained the Hawks NTJFA U14 premiership team in 2016. Following another season at the Club and in the Tasmanian talent programs he was transferred to the Tasmanian State League. Thereafter Callow developed his craft playing for the North Launceston and the Tasmanian Devils. He was a member of the North Launceston team that won a Tasmanian State League flag in 2019. Tasmania Devils (VFL)
The Tasmania Football Club, nicknamed the Devils, is a professional Australian rules football club set to compete in the Australian Football League (AFL) from the 2028 season and the AFL Women's (AFLW) from an unspecified date. The club will be based in Tasmania, with matches to be played across the state. Both University of Tasmania Stadium in Launceston and Blundstone Arena in Hobart will host games initially, with the southern matches moving to the future Macquarie Point Stadium upon its construction. The history of the Tasmanian AFL bid covers a series of proposals and bids between 1987 and 2023 for a Tasmanian-based Australian rules football team in the Australian Football League and AFL Women's premierships. Jye Menzie (born 28 October 2002) is a professional Australian rules footballer with the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). AFL career Menzie was drafted by Essendon with pick 15 in the 2022 mid-season rookie draft. Menzie was Essendon's second selection in the mid-season rookie draft, having earlier taken Massimo D'Ambrosio as well. Menzie made his AFL debut for Essendon in round 20 of his first season, starting at the medical sub against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium. 2021 NAB League Boys Season
The 2021 NAB League Boys season was the 29th season of the NAB League Boys competition for under-19 male Australian rules footballers in Victoria. The season commenced on 27 March and concluded on 3 September, after the AFL announced the cessation of further matches due the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Format The league consists of 13 full-time teams (12 from Victoria and 1 from Tasmania) competing in a nine-to-eighteen round regular season. There are also five academy teams that partake in some matches but are not eligible for finals (those teams are Sydney Swans Academy, GWS Giants Academy, Brisbane Lions Academy, Gold Coast Suns Academy and Northern Territory).
