Tashi Wangchuk
Tashi Wangchuk is a Tibetan filmmaker who works for Voice of America, Tibetan Service as a TV Producer and host. Tashi in collaboration with his cousin/friend filmmaker, Tsultrim Dorjee established Seykhar Films (Formally Tibet Motion Pictures & Arts) in 2005 in Dehradun, India. Seykhar Films is now based in the San Francisco Bay Area, USA. Tashi studied filmmaking (MFA) under a Fulbright Scholarship from SUNY Buffalo. He also has a Masters in Economics from Dehradun, India. Earlier Tashi Wangchuk served at the prestigious Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) as a Public Relation Officer/Teacher from 2000 to 2002. It was primarily during this period that he is inspired by the arts and film-making. Tibetan People
The Tibetan people (; ) are an East Asian ethnic group native to Tibet. Their current population is estimated to be around 6.7 million. In addition to the majority living in Tibet Autonomous Region of China, significant numbers of Tibetans live in the Chinese provinces of Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan, and Yunnan, as well as in India, Nepal, and Bhutan. Tibetan languages belong to the Tibeto-Burman language group. The traditional or mythological explanation of the Tibetan people's origin is that they are the descendants of the human Pha Trelgen Changchup Sempa and rock ogress Ma Drag Sinmo. The Edgewater Casino is a former casino that was located at 760 Pacific Blvd South Vancouver, British Columbia. It was in operation from 2005 to 2017. History The Edgwater Casino opened in February 2005. In 2006, the casino was acquired by Paragon Gaming who would manage it for more than ten years. In September 2006, the company purchased the bankrupt casino for $43 million. The casino was closed on September 29, 2017. This was the same day that across the street, the Parq Vancouver opened its doors. Statistics In 2013, it generated $6.6 million for the city. In 2014 it was $7.2 million. Tibetan Youth Congress
The Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) is an international non-governmental organization that advocates the independence of Tibet from China. With around 30,000 members in the Tibetan diaspora, it is the largest of the pro-independence organizations of Tibetan exiles with 87 branches in 10 countries listed on the organisation's website. The current president of the Tibetan Youth Congress is Gonpo Dhundup. The organization claims no particular religious or party political affiliation. Origin The TYC was founded on October 7, 1970, in Dharamsala, India, with the 14th Dalai Lama delivering the inaugural address. The organization was founded by young Tibetans from the first generation to graduate from contemporary schools and colleges. Kalachakra
''Kālacakra'' () is a polysemic term in Vajrayana Buddhism that means "wheel of time" or "time cycles". "''Kālacakra''" is also the name of a series of Buddhist texts and a major practice lineage in Indian Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism. The Tibetan Parliament in Exile (TPiE), officially the Parliament of the Central Tibetan Administration, is the unicameral and highest legislative organ of the Central Tibetan Administration, the government-in-exile of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. It was established and is based in Dharamshala, India. The creation of this democratically elected body has been one of the major changes that the 14th Dalai Lama brought about in his efforts to introduce a democratic system of administration.
