It is one of four high schools in the Amarillo Independent School District located in southern Potter County. The school was opened in 1958. Jim Wilson is an American recording artist and piano technician. Early life Wilson was born in Greenville, South Carolina. Terry LaVerne Stafford (November 22, 1941 – March 17, 1996) was an American singer and songwriter, best known for his 1964 US Top 10 hit "Suspicion", and the 1973 country music hit " Amarillo by Morning". Brandon Slay
Brandon Slay (born October 14, 1975) won an Olympic gold medal for the United States in wrestling. Slay also help found Dallas Dynamite wrestling club in Dallas, TX.
