Antonio Deon Tarver (born November 21, 1968) is an American former professional boxer and boxing commentator. In boxing he competed from 1997 to 2015, and held multiple light heavyweight world championships, including the WBA (Unified), WBC, IBF and ''Ring'' magazine titles, as well as the IBO light heavyweight and cruiserweight titles. As an amateur, Tarver represented the United States at the 1996 Olympics, winning a bronze medal in the light heavyweight division; he eventually lost to Vassiliy Jirov from Kazakhstan, whom he had previously defeated at the 1995 World Championships to win gold. Tarver also triumphed at the 1995 Pan American Games and 1995 U.S. National Championships, winning gold in both. He remains the only boxer in history to have won gold at the Pan Am Games, World Championships and U.S. Nationals all in the same year. Clay Tarver (born November 8, 1965, in San Antonio, Texas) is an American guitarist and writer. He was the co-showrunner and an executive producer of ''Silicon Valley''. Biography Music career Tarver—who graduated from Harvard University in 1988—first came to prominence as the co-founder and lead guitarist of the Boston hard rock/punk band Bullet LaVolta in the late 1980s. They recorded a few records for Taang!, RCA, and Matador Records before disbanding in 1991. He then formed Chavez with Matt Sweeney, Scott Marshall and James Lo. Movie career Tarver has also worked as a screenwriter for television and film. He created the "Jimmy the Cabdriver" interstitials for MTV in the mid 1990s with friends from college. Ed Tarver
Edward Jerome Tarver (born July 22, 1959) is an American lawyer who served as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia. A Democrat, Tarver is a former Georgia State Senator. He was a candidate for the United States Senate in the 2020 special election in Georgia, receiving 0.5 percent of the vote in the jungle primary. Early life and education Tarver attended Augusta College and graduated in 1981. He joined the United States Army and served as a field artillery officer before attending the University of Georgia School of Law, graduating in 1991. Jason Tarver (born August 28, 1974) is an American football coach who is the linebackers coach for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as an assistant coach for the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders. Tarver also coached at Vanderbilt, Stanford, UCLA and West Valley College. Early life and playing career Tarver attended Foothill High School in Pleasanton, California and graduated in 1993. After graduating from high school, he attended Santa Clara University from 1992 to 1997. Since Santa Clara had cut their football team after the 1992 season, Tarver decided to play defensive back at West Valley College for the 1994–1995 seasons. He played college football at the University of Central Oklahoma and attended Western Hills High School in Benbrook, Texas. He was a member of the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Scottish Claymores, Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Outlaws, Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Storm, Chicago Rush, Toronto Argonauts and Las Vegas Gladiators. La Schelle Tarver (born January 30, 1959) is a former backup outfielder in Major League Baseball who played for the Boston Red Sox during the season. Listed at 5' 11", 165 lb., he batted and threw left-handed. Early years Tarver was born in 1959 in Modesto, California, and grew up in Madera, California. He was selected as a Northern California All-American first baseman while playing at Madera High School. Quindon Dan Tarver (August 4, 1982 – April 1, 2021) was an American singer. He was best known for his covers of Prince's "When Doves Cry" and Rozalla's " Everybody's Free" for the 1996 film ''William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet''. Life and career Tarver was born in Plano, Texas on August 4, 1982. He started out singing in a church choir. In 1996, he appeared as the choir boy in the Baz Luhrmann movie ''Romeo + Juliet'', co-starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes.
