Tariq Cheema
Tariq Munir Cheema (born 25 March 1947) is a former cricketer who played first-class cricket for numerous teams in Pakistan from 1964 to 1976. An opening bowler, Tariq Cheema had his best season on his debut in 1964-65 at the age of 17. He was the second-highest wicket-taker in the Ayub Trophy, with 34 at an average of 15.85 for the student team of Lahore Education Board, who finished runners-up in the competition. In the victory over Combined Services he took 6 for 62 and 7 for 58. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Combined Services (Pakistan) cricket team were a first-class cricket team for members of the Pakistan Armed Forces. They competed in Pakistan's first-class tournaments between 1953-54 and 1978-79. 1953-54 to 1964-65 Combined Services were one of the seven teams that competed in the first season of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy in 1953-54. They dominated their first match, against Karachi, Mohammed Ghazali scoring 160. In their second match their total of 405 was not enough to secure a first-innings lead against Bahawalpur, who proceeded to the finals and won the trophy. Combined Services then made a short tour of India and Ceylon, where they won the only first-class match, against the Ceylon Cricket Association. They played a match against the touring Indians in 1954-55, losing by an innings.
