Tara Setmayer
Tara Olivia Setmayer (born September 9, 1975) is a former CNN political commentator, contributor to ABC News and former GOP communications director on Capitol Hill. She has appeared on ABC's '' The View'', ABC's '' Good Morning America'', and on HBO's ''Real Time with Bill Maher''. On January 9, 2020, Setmayer was named as a Harvard Institute of Politics Spring 2020 Resident Fellow. Also in January 2020, she joined The Lincoln Project as a senior advisor and hosts the live show ''The Breakdown'' alongside co-founder Rick Wilson, on the organization's streaming channel, LPTV. Setmayer was also named a University of Virginia Center for Politics resident scholar for the 2020–21 academic year. Jose Compean
José Alonso Compeán (born 1976) is a former United States Border Patrol Agent, convicted of shooting (wounding) a fleeing, illegal alien drug smuggler on the United States–Mexico border near El Paso, Texas, on February 17, 2005, and of covering up the shooting: i.e. "obstructing justice by willfully defacing the crime scene". On 19 January 2009, President Bush commuted the sentences of both Compean and fellow agent Ignacio Ramos, effectively ending their prison term on March 20, 2009, and they were released on February 17, 2009. Ignacio Ramos is a former United States Border Patrol Agent, who was convicted of shooting an unarmed illegal alien and drug smuggler on the United States–Mexico border. He was convicted of causing serious bodily injury, assault with a deadly weapon, discharge of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence, and a civil rights violation. On January 19, 2009, his sentence was commuted by President Bush and he was released on February 17, 2009. Ramos was granted a full pardon on December 22, 2020, by President Donald Trump. Afro-Guatemalans
Afro-Guatemalans are Guatemalans of African descent. According to the 2018 census, 0.3% of the population identifies as having African ancestry. They are of mainly English-speaking West Indian (Antillean) and Garifuna origin. They are found in the Caribbean coast, in Livingston (a Garifuna settlement), Puerto Barrios and Santo Tomas. During the colonial period, enslaved Africans were brought in, but significantly mixed with the other ethnicities in the general population. Therefore, many (but not all) of the descendants of the original Africans who came with Spanish colonizers, today, can be referred to as Afro-mestizos due to miscegenation.
