Tapani Uitos
Tapani Uitos (born 26 June 1953) is a Finnish former professional darts player who competed in the 1980s. Career A winner of the 1983 Finnish Open and 1985 BDO Nations Cup he competed in the 1985 BDO World Darts Championship but was defeated by Sweden's Stefan Lord in the first round. He returned to Lakeside in 1987 and beat Scotland's Robert MacKenzie but lost in the second round to Cliff Lazarenko. In 1988, Uitos lost in the first round to Northern Ireland's Fred McMullan. Uitos also played in the 1986 Winmau World Masters, but lost in the first round to Chris Johns. Chris Johns (darts Player)
Chris Johns is a Welsh former professional darts player. He played county darts for Glamorgan and participated in the BDO World Darts Championship on five occasions. He is best remembered as a controversial figure in an acrimonious split in the game between 1992 and 1994. Career Johns made his debut at the 1988 Embassy World Championship, reaching the second round. He made four further appearances at the championships, losing in the first round in 1989, 1991, and 1993, and in the second round in 1992. His only two wins at Lakeside were against Mike Gregory in 1988 and Steve Beaton in 1992. He had only moderate success in British Darts Organisation (BDO) Open tournaments. As early as 1986, he reached the semi-finals of the Winmau World Masters – beating Eric Bristow in the last 16, before falling to Bob Anderson in the last four. Winmau World Masters
The World Masters is one of the longest-running and most prestigious of the BDO/WDF tournaments, which began in 1974. The tournament is sponsored by darts board manufacturer, Winmau. The World Masters was unusual in darts in that its sets are the best of 3 legs (first to 2) rather than the standard best of 5 legs (first to 3). It was previously the final leg of the BDO's Grand Slam title of televised majors, along with the BDO World Darts Championship, International Darts League and World Darts Trophy, until the latter two tournaments were axed in 2008. The champion is referred to as the World Master. After the collapse of the British Darts Organisation in September 2020, the World Darts Federation announced plans to launch the WDF World Masters. Freddie "Fred" McMullan (born 4 June 1950) is a Northern Irish former professional darts player who competed in the 1980s. Career McMullan played at the World Darts Championship three times. In 1985, he beat Peter Locke of Wales in the first round and then beat Bobby George to reach the quarter-finals but was defeated by Cliff Lazarenko. In 1985 MFI World Matchplay he lose Terry O'Dea from Australia. In 1986 he beat Willie Mands in the first round but lost in round two to John Lowe. In 1986 MFI World Pairs defeated Keith Deller and Bobby George in the semi-finals with Dave Whitcombe and lose to Eric Bristow and Peter Locke. Cliff Lazarenko (born 16 March 1952) is an English former professional darts player. Robert "Bob" MacKenzie is a Scottish former professional darts player who competed in the 1980s. Career McKenzie played in three successive World Professional Darts Championships but lost in the first round on all three occasions. In 1986, McKenzie was beaten 3-1 by John Lowe from England, in 1987, he lost 3–0 in Finland's Tapani Uitos and in 1988 he was defeated 3-2 by England's Dennis Hickling.
