Taoyuan County
Taoyuan County () is under the administration of Changde, Hunan, Hunan Province, China. The Yuan River, a tributary of the Yangtze, flows through Taoyuan. It covers an area of 4441 square kilometers, of which is arable land. It is from Zhangjiang Town, the county seat, to Changsha, the capital city of Hunan province. The county occupies the southwestern corner of Changde City and borders the prefecture-level city, prefecture-level cities of Zhangjiajie to the northwest and Huaihua to the southwest. History The area of present-day Taoyuan County belonged to the Chu (state) during the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, and was a portion of Linyuan County during the Western Han Dynasty. In AD 50, the 26th year of Jianwu, the Eastern Han Dynasty was merged with Yuannan County, and administered by the Wuling Prefecture, separating it from Linyuan County. Taoyuan () is a special municipality of the Republic of China (Taiwan) located in northwestern Taiwan, neighboring New Taipei City to the north-east, Yilan County to the south-east, and Hsinchu County to the south-west. Taoyuan District is the seat of the municipal government and which, along with Zhongli District, forms a large metropolitan area. Taoyuan developed from a satellite city of Taipei metropolitan area to become the fourth-largest metropolitan area, and fifth-largest populated city in Taiwan. "Taoyuan" literally means "peach garden" in Chinese, since the area used to have many peach trees. Formerly a county, Taoyuan became the most recent special municipality in 2014. Taoyuan City is home to many industrial parks and tech company headquarters. Taoyuan District (), formerly known as Taoyuan City () prior to the establishment of the special municipality of Taoyuan in 2014, is a district of Taoyuan City in northwestern Taiwan. The municipal seat of Taoyuan City is situated within its borders. It is the most populous district among the 13 districts of Taoyuan City, and the second most populous among the districts of Taiwan, with the most populous being Banqiao District in New Taipei City. History Taoyuan is the native home of the plains tribes of Taiwanese aborigines. Taoyuan's old name was ''Toahong'' () since there used to be many peach blossoms in the area. Taoyuan District, Kaohsiung
Taoyuan District ( Bunun: Ngani; ) is a mountain indigenous district of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. It is the largest district in Kaohsiung City by area and the least densely populated district in Taiwan. The population is mainly the indigenous Bunun people and Saaroa people. Name The same Pinyin form, Taoyuan District, exists in two different districts in Taiwan: one is in Kaohsiung, the other is in Taoyuan City. Geography It is the district that is most mountainous and most distant from the city center. The population density in Taoyuan District is one of the least in Taiwan, but the area of the district is the sixth largest. Both Yushan National Park and Maolin National Scenic Area are situated in this district. Taoyuan District is very mountainous with very little flat land.
