Tao Pun Junction
Tao Pun ( th, เตาปูน, lit=cement kiln, also spelled Tao Poon) is a neighbourhood in Bangkok's Bang Sue district. It is so named after the country's first cement factory, established in 1913 by the Siam Cement Company, whose corporate headquarters are still located here, adjacent Bang Sue Junction railway station on its west side. Cement kilns are used for the pyroprocessing stage of manufacture of portland and other types of hydraulic cement, in which calcium carbonate reacts with silica-bearing minerals to form a mixture of calcium silicates. Over a billion tonnes of cement are made per year, and cement kilns are the heart of this production process: their capacity usually defines the capacity of the cement plant. Bang Sue Junction Railway Station
Bang Sue Junction ( th, สถานีชุมทางบางซื่อ, ), is a railway station and junction located in Bangkok. It is situated on Thoet Damri Road, Chatuchak District. It is owned by the State Railway of Thailand, serves the Northern, Northeastern and Southern Line and is a junction for the North/Northeast and South Lines. Bang Sue Junction is separated into 2 station buildings, one (the older) for the North and Northeast lines and another (newer) for the Southern Line. The distance between the buildings are about 200 metres apart, with an overpass that links and used when a train is currently parked at the platform. Tao Poon MRT Station
Tao Poon station ( th, สถานีเตาปูน, , ) is a MRT station in Bangkok, located on Tao Pun Junction, Bang Sue District, Bangkok. It is an interchange station of the Blue Line and Purple Line. It is also currently a terminal station for Purple line. History The station was opened on 6 August 2016, initially with only Purple line service and were not connected to the rest of Bangkok's rapid transit the system due to construction delays and a contract dispute. This resulted in Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha invoking the section 44 of the 2014 interim constitution of Thailand on 27 December 2016 to allow construction to proceed, and allowing BEM to operate Blue line service on this station. MRT Blue Line
The MRT Blue Line ( th, รถไฟฟ้า สายสีน้ำเงิน) or MRT Chaloem Ratchamongkon Line ( th, รถไฟฟ้ามหานคร สายเฉลิมรัชมงคล) is Bangkok's third rapid transit line, following the Sukhumvit line and Silom line of the BTS Skytrain.
