Tanya Huebner
Tanya Huebner is an Australian swimmer. She has represented Australia at the 2012 London and the 2016 Rio Paralympics. Swimming Huebner is an S6 classified swimmer. She is a member of Melbourne Vicentre Swimming Club. She started swimming when she was extraordinarily young. In 2008, Huebner competed in Rock2Ramp. That year, she also competed in the Club-to-Club swim from Edithvale Life Saving Club to Aspendale Life Saving Club. In 2010, she woke up at 4:30am daily in order to train. She competed in the 2010 International Paralympic Committee swimming world championships. She took up a swimming scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport in July 2011. She swam for Bayside at the 2011 Australian Open Championships. She competed in the 2011 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in the 200 metres individual medley SM6 event, where she finished first with a time of 3:31:36. S6 (classification)
S6, SB5, SM6 are disability swimming classifications used for categorising swimmers based on their level of disability. This class includes people with a number of different types of disability including short stature, major limb impairment or loss in two limbs. This includes people with cerebral palsy, people with dwarfism and amputees. The class competes at the Paralympic Games. Definition This classification is for swimming. In the classification title, S represents Freestyle, Backstroke and Butterfly strokes. SB means breaststroke. SM means individual medley. Swimming classifications are on a gradient, with one being the most severely physically impaired to ten having the least amount of physical disability. Rachael Watson
Rachael Elizabeth Watson, (born 30 January 1992) is an Australian Paralympic swimmer. Watson represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics winning gold in the 50m Freestyle S4, a feat she repeated at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Personal Watson was born on 30 January 1992. She is a triplet and has mild cerebral palsy however remained functionally independent and ambulant. In her early 20's she acquired Guillain Barre Syndrome that led to severe muscle weakness and peripheral nervous system damage resulting in quadriplegia requiring the use of a wheelchair. Swimming Watson took up swimming as part of her rehabilitation from Guillain Barre Syndrome. The majority of competitions are held in a multi class (MC) format where each athlete swims against the world record for their classification and the swimmer with the highest point score wins the race.
