Tanvald
Tanvald (; german: Tannwald) is a town in Jablonec nad Nisou District in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 6,000 inhabitants. Administrative parts The town part of Šumburk nad Desnou and the village of Žďár are administrative parts of Tanvald. Etymology The original German name means literally "fir forest". The Czech name was created by transcription of the German name. Geography Tanvald is located about east of Jablonec nad Nisou. It lies in the Jizera Mountains. The highest point is the mountain Špičák at above sea level. The town is situated at the confluence of the rivers Kamenice (Jizera), Kamenice, which flows along the southern municipal border, and Desná (Kamenice), Desná, which flows across the eastern part of the municipal territory. Jizera Mountains
Jizera Mountains ( cz, Jizerské hory), or Izera Mountains ( pl, Góry Izerskie; german: Isergebirge), are part of the Western Sudetes on the border between the Czech Republic and Poland. The range got its name from the Jizera River, which rises at the southern base of the Smrk massif. The beech forests within the Jizera Mountains were added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe, because of their outstanding preservation and testimony to the ecological history of Europe (and the beech family specifically) since the Last Glacial Period. Liberec Railway Station
Liberec railway station ( cs, Nádraží Liberec, german: Bahnhof Reichenberg) is a railway station in the city of Liberec, the capital of the Liberec Region, Czech Republic. History and description The railway station was built in 1859 as a part of connection between Liberec and Pardubice to the south, and Zittau to the north. The project was realised by ''Společnost Pardubicko-liberecké dráhy'' (Pardubice-Liberec Railway Company). In 1900 the station area had to be improved because of a new line to Česká Lípa. Kamenice (Jizera)
Kamenice (german: Kamnitz) is a river in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It is the longest tributary of the Jizera river in the Czech Republic. It rises from several source streams in the Jizera Mountains at Holubník (). Below the former crystal production village of Kristiánov, a locality in Bedřichov, only Liščí bouda remains preserved as a glass museum near where the Kamenice meets the Josefův Důl dam. The Josefův Důl dam, above the village Josefův Důl, was built between 1976 and 1982 and is the largest dam in the Jizera Mountains. It has a height of and a capacity of . Libor Němeček (born 26 October 1968) is a former professional tennis player from the Czech Republic. Career Němeček had some success as a junior in his native country. He won the Czechoslovakian Under-14s Championship and was later the doubles winner with Cyril Suk at the Under-18s Championships. Szklarska Poręba (german: Schreiberhau) is a town in Jelenia Góra County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. The town has a population of around 6,500. It is a popular ski resort.
