The Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP, UN/Locode: MYTPP) is a container port located in Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru District, Johor, Malaysia, and is part of the APM Terminals Global Terminal Network, which holds a minority share in the joint venture. The port is situated on the eastern mouth of the Pulai River in south-western Johor, Malaysia, in close proximity to the Straits of Johor, which separates the countries of Malaysia and Singapore and the Strait of Malacca. Transshipment accounts for over 90 per cent of the port's traffic and was constructed in an attempt to compete with Singaporean ports. History In June 2020, 110 containers of toxic electric arc furnace dust, amounting to some 1,864 tonnes, were found at the port. The Malaysian government said it would work to repatriate the waste. The Malaysia–Singapore Second Link ( ms, Laluan Kedua Malaysia–Singapura, zh, 马新第二通道) is a bridge connecting Singapore and Johor, Malaysia. The Johore Strait (also known as the Tebrau Strait, Straits of Johor, Selat Johor, Selat Tebrau, and Tebrau Reach) is an international strait in Southeast Asia, between Singapore and Peninsular Malaysia. Pulai River
The Pulai River ( ms, Sungai Pulai) is a river in Johor, Malaysia. It runs from Mount Pulai in Kulai District until Tanjung Pelepas, draining into the Tebrau Straits. At its mouth lies the single largest seagrass bed in Malaysia, which extends all the way to Pulau Merambong. Sungai Pulai is also a mangrove forest reserve. The site is being studied to help managing the vast mangrove ecosystem, with assistance from University of Technology Malaysia and the National University of Malaysia, in line with the Integrated Management Plan for the sustainable use of mangroves in Johor.
