Tani People
The Tani is a group of tribes from the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China which share common Tani languages and certain common beliefs, primarily in Abotani as their primeval ancestor (Father of Human). The group comprises Nyishi, Adi, Apatani, Galo, Tagin, and Mising. They are also often referred to as the Tani group. With a population of 1.7 million, the Tani are one of the largest ethnic groups in North Eastern India. The Tani are scattered across larger regions of Arunachal Pradesh except Tirap, Changlang, Longding, West Kameng, and Tawang. The major part of the Mising tribe is scattered in the different district of Upper Assam. Thousands of Tani populace are also found across the border in Tibet Autonomous Region, China. Tani District ( ps, تڼي ولسوالۍ, fa, ولسوالی تنی) is situated in the southern part of Khost Province, Afghanistan. It borders Spera District to the west, Nadir Shah Kot and Mando Zayi to the north, Gurbuz District to the east and Pakistan to the south. The population is 52,800 (2006) people. Tanitoluwa Emmanuel Adewumi (born September 3, 2010; nicknamed Tani) is a Nigerian-American chess player who currently holds the title of FIDE Master (FM). A chess prodigy, he won the 2019 K-3 New York State chess championship at the age of 8 after playing the game for only a year while living with his refugee family in a homeless shelter in Manhattan. Tanhum Cohen-Mintz (תנחום (תני) כהן-מינץ; also "Tanchum or Tani" and "Cohen-Minz"; October 18, 1939 – October 11, 2014) was an Israeli professional basketball player. He was 6'8 " (2.04 m ) tall, and he played at the center position. Early life Cohen-Mintz, who was Jewish, was born in Riga, Latvia. Nang Tani
Nang Tani ( th, นางตานี; "Lady of Tani") is a female spirit of the Thai folklore. According to folk tradition, this ghost appears as a young woman that haunts wild banana trees (''Musa balbisiana''), known as in Thai language as ''Kluai Tani'' (กล้วยตานี). ''Nang Tani'' belongs to a type of female ghosts or fairies related to trees known generically as ''Nang Mai'' (นางไม้; "Lady of the Wood") in the Thai lore.
