Saint Tanguy of Locmazhé, or Sant Tangi in Breton, († 594) was a Breton monk from Gerber ( Le Relecq). He founded the abbaye de Saint Matthieu at Le Conquet and is buried at Locmazhé (Finistère). Tanguy Malmanche
Tanguy Malmanche (7 September 1875 – 20 March 1953) was a French writer involved in the revival of Breton culture. His first name also appears as Tangi. The son of Gustave Malmanche, a ship's purser based in Paris, and Marie Louise Piédalu, he was born Tanneguy Malmanche at Saint-Omer, where his mother's parents lived. He grew up in Brest, where he was exposed to Breton language and culture. His father's family had included several Brest mayors. Malmanche continued his studies at the Collège Stanislas de Paris. He studied law in Rennes and literature in Paris. Malmanche performed his military service in an infantry regiment at Brest. He worked with the railway, then in insurance, before establishing himself in Courbevoie as a master blacksmith. In 1912, he married Jeanne Briantais. Tanguy Nef (born 19 November 1996) is a Swiss alpine skier. He is a member of Swiss Ski's A frame for the 2021-2022 season. Early life and career Tanguy Nef started skiing when he was 6 years old on the slopes of the Valais central in French-speaking Switzerland, following in the footsteps of his family members. Son of a Swiss ski teacher, he started competing in alpine ski racing in the cadet/mini category at the age of 7. In 2016, shortly after his first podiums in FIS slalom, he competed in his first European Cup events then took part in his first Junior World Championships. He then moved to the United States to study computer science at Dartmouth College where he completed a bachelor's degree. Julien François Tanguy, called Père Tanguy (June 28, 1825, Plédran, Brittany - February 6, 1894, Paris) was a French art dealer, gallery owner, art collector and patron who was one of the first buyers of Impressionist paintings. He played an important role in promoting Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. Life Julien Tanguy started out as a plasterer and had other jobs before becoming an independent paint dealer. On April 23, 1855, in Saint-Brieuc, he married Renée Briend, born in Hillion. In 1860 the couple moved to Paris. Tanguy opened an itinerant shop in 1868, selling his paints in, for example, Barbizon or Argenteuil. He was a Communard in the struggles of the Paris Commune of 1871, was captured but released at the instigation of friends. Raymond Georges Yves Tanguy (January 5, 1900 – January 15, 1955), known as just Yves Tanguy (, ), was a French surrealist painter. Biography Tanguy, the son of a retired navy captain, was born January 5, 1900, at the Ministry of Naval Affairs on Place de la Concorde in Paris, France. His parents were both of Breton origin. After his father's death in 1908, his mother moved back to her native Locronan, Finistère, and he ended up spending much of his youth living with various relatives.
