Tanghetto is an Argentinian neotango and electronic tango music project created and led by musician and producer Max Masri. Winner of the Gardel Award and four times nominated to the Latin Grammy Awards. It's based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The style of Tanghetto is a blend of tango and electronic music and is also influenced by world music and jazz. The main feature of their music, apart from the balance of electronic and ethnic sounds, is the strong presence of melody and song structure. Tanghetto uses technology as another musical instrument. History Tanghetto released their first album, ''Emigrante (electrotango)'' in 2003. Buenos Aires Remixed is a remix album from the Argentine neotango band Tanghetto. The album includes 12 remixes of older songs from the band in a house / progressive mood. However, the most remarkable feature of this album are the two covers especially recorded by the band to be part of this album: Depeche Mode's classic from 1990, Enjoy the Silence and New Order's 1983 " Blue Monday". Hybrid Tango
Hybrid Tango is a side project by the members of Buenos Aires-based electronic neo-tango band Tanghetto. Also named Hybrid Tango Project. Released in December 2004, ''Hybrid Tango'' contains twelve instrumental tracks in which, apart from the blend of electronic music and tango that is the distinctive sound of ''Tanghetto'', there are plenty of world-music styles such as flamenco, candombe, and jazz. Acoustic sounds (bandoneón, piano, guitar, cello, and even the Chinese stringed instrument, the erhu) are more predominant than in ''Tanghettos debut album ''Emigrante (Electrotango)''. The album was produced and mixed by Max Masri. The album was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in 2005 and reached gold status in Argentina. ''Más Allá del Sur'' is Argentine electrotango band Tanghetto's third studio album (or fourth if taken in consideration Hybrid Tango, a side project). The album was released in November 2009. According to the band's website, the album represents a move towards the roots of a more traditional tango, while keeping the modern elements that are a trademark of Tanghetto. In 2010 the album received a Gardel Award nomination.
