Hasan Imam Khan, also known as Sohel Hazari, is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the incumbent Member of Parliament from Tangail-4. He is the former chairman of Kalihati Upazila, Kalihati upazila. Career Hasan Imam Khan was a leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League. He was also a leader of Bangladesh Awami Swechasebak League. He served as the chairman of Kalihati upazila. As chairman in 2011 he helped resolve a dispute between Bangladesh Army officers and Bangladesh Awami League men during a mayoral election. Awami League men were allegedly beaten by Army personal which caused Awami League personal to lay seize office of the returning officer of Bangladesh Election Commission. Laila Siddiqui is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the former Member of Parliament from Tangail-4. Career Siddiqui was elected to parliament from Tangail-4 under the women's reserved seat in 1988. She was one of the Bangladesh Awami League leaders who received 100 Bangladesh Nationalist Party men in the league in Tangail on 11 January 2007. She sued the government on 11 January 2014, after her husband Abdul Latif Siddiqui was arrested for criticizing Hajj, Tablighi Jamaat, and Sajeeb Wazed Joy in New York City. She argued that cases against her husband were unconstitutional because, for offences committed outside Bangladesh, Bangladeshi law requires permission of the home minister before individuals can be charged. Abdul Latif Siddiqui (born 1943) is a Bangladesh Awami League politician. He represented the Tangail-4 constituency for two terms in the Bangladesh Parliament. He served as the Minister of Textiles and Jute in the second Hasina ministry and Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology in the third Hasina ministry. Abdul Latif Siddiqui is the elder brother of politician Abdul Kader Siddique. Career Siddiqui served as a Jatiya Sangsad member from Tangail-4 constituency. He resigned on 1 September 2015. Shajahan Siraj
Shajahan Siraj (1 March 1943 – 14 July 2020) was a Bangladeshi politician who served as the vice chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). As a student, he was involved with the Bangladesh Liberation War. He was one of the founders of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal. He was a member of Jatiya Sangsad representing the Tangail-4 constituency. Early life Siraj attended Government Saadat College, where he was twice elected vice president of the student council. Kalihati ( bn, কালিহাতী) is an upazila of Tangail District, Dhaka Division, Bangladesh. History It has a historical background during the liberation war in 1971. Abdul Kader Siddique ( bn, আবদুল কাদের সিদ্দিকী) is a Bangladeshi politician. He is popularly known under the title of Bangabir. He served as a Mukti Bahini member and organizer of the Bangladesh Liberation War. 1991 Bangladeshi General Election
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 27 February 1991. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) emerged as the largest party in parliament, winning 140 of the 300 directly-elected seats. 2014 Bangladeshi General Election
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 5 January 2014, in accordance with the constitutional requirement that elections must take place within the 90-day period before the expiration of the term of the Jatiya Sangshad on 24 January 2014. The elections were not free and fair. They were preceded by a government crackdown on the opposition, with Bangladesh Nationalist Party and Opposition leader Khaleda Zia was put under house arrest. There were widespread arrests of other opposition members, violence and strikes by the opposition, attacks on religious minorities, and extrajudicial killings by the government, with around 21 people killed on election day. The Hajj (; ar, حَجّ '; sometimes also spelled Hadj, Hadji or Haj in English) is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the holiest city for Muslims.
