Tando Muhammad Khan District
Tando Muhammad Khan District ( sd, ٽنڊو محمد خان ضلعو, ur, ) is a district in the southern part of Sindh province in Pakistan. In north of the district, Hyderabad and Tando Allahyar districts are located; Badin district lies on south and east; and West boundary is shared with Sujawal District. The Indus River flows through Northwest. Tando Muhammad Khan district comprises the three talukas of Tando Muhammad Khan (also the biggest town in the district), Bulri Shah Karim and Tando Ghulam Hyder. History The district is named after the city of Tando Muhammad Khan, founded by Mir Muhammad Khan Shahwani Talpur. It is located at a distance of 35 km from Hyderabad on the Badin-Hyderabad National Highway. List Of Districts In Sindh
There are thirty districts in the Pakistan province of Sindh. These districts together contain 119 tehsils, 1100 Union Councils and 66,923 human settlements, as per the 1998 census. Each district has a headquarter, often referred to as a capital of the district. Karachi, the capital of Sindh, is the most populous city district, as well as the most densely populated. Talpur Dynasty
The Talpur dynasty ( sd, ٽالپردور) were rulers based in Sindh. Four branches of the dynasty were established following the defeat of the Kalhora dynasty at the Battle of Halani in 1783: one ruled lower Sindh from the city of Hyderabad, Sindh, Hyderabad, another ruled over upper Sindh from the city of Khairpur, a third ruled around the eastern city of Mirpur Khas, and a fourth was based in Tando Muhammad Khan. The Talpurs were ethnically Baloch people, Baloch. For most of their rule, they were subordinate to the Durrani Empire and were forced to pay tribute to them. The union councils of Pakistan ( ur, ), referred to as village councils in villages, are an elected local government body consisting of 21 councillors, and headed by a Nazim which is equivalent to a mayor or chairperson and a Naib Nazib (vice chairperson). As of 2007, there are 5,375 rural union councils across 115 districts. They form the third-tier of local government and fifth tier overall. Its structure and responsibilities differ between provinces and territories. Alif Ailaan
Alif Ailaan ( ur, ) was a nonprofit organization working in the field of education in Pakistan from 2013 to 2018. Launched by a team of media and communications specialists, the program aimed to highlight education on priority basis in Pakistan and make the masses aware of the importance of education. It ran campaigns in print, on radio and television, and on social media for awareness of the masses about education. The program conducts seminars and surveys and publishes the highly cited district education rankings report. It also monitored the performance of parliamentarians in reforming education in their constituencies. Working in the four provinces of Pakistan as well as Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and the formerly Federally Administered Tribal Areas, Alif Ailaan identified the weak spots in education through research and aimed to assist decision makers in creating and implementing better education policies.
