Tampereen Pyrintö
Tampereen Pyrintö ry is a Finnish multi-sport club from Tampere. Pyrintö representatives have achieved several Olympic medals and other success. In the year 2017, Pyrintö has sport sections in cross-country skiing, basketball, ski jumping, weightlifting, orienteering, athletics, cheerleading, and speed skating. In the past it has also had teams in pesäpallo and ice hockey. Sport sections Athletics In athletics, Pyrintö is one of Finland's most successful clubs. Long jumper Tommi Evilä, javelin thrower Tero Järvenpää and hammer thrower Mia Strömmer have been club's internationally most notable athletes in recent years. In the past, Pyrintö athletes, like Akilles Järvinen, Eero Berg and Hugo Lahtinen, won several Olympic medals. Basketball Pyrintö's men's basketball team plays in Korisliiga, the highest tier of Finnish basketball. It has won two titles (2010, 2011) and Finnish cup once. Tiomila 2011 Tampereen Pyrintö
Tiomila or 10-mila is an orienteering race held annually in Sweden since 1945, usually in late April or early May. It is a 10-man relay which includes both night and daytime legs. The women's race consists of five daylight legs. Tiomila attracts club teams from all the major orienteering nations. In 2008, both the men's and the women's race consisted of about 350 teams. In 2019, there were 336 women's teams, and 310 men's teams. The name means "ten mil" (100 km) and refers to the total distance run by each team. The actual distance, however, varies from year to year. The 2015 edition was measured to along the straight line between the controls. Heino Enden
Heino Enden (born 13 December 1959 in Tallinn) is a retired Estonian professional basketball player who played mostly at the shooting guard position. Basketball career His most notable achievements include winning the World Championship as a member of the Soviet Union team in the 1982 in Bogota, Colombia and the gold, silver and bronze medals with the same team in the 1983, 1985 and 1987 EuroBasket competitions. He won the Soviet Union League championship twice as a member of the CSKA Moscow basketball team and ended his professional career as a player in 1996, after playing a season with the Tampereen Pyrintö in Finland. After retiring his playing career, he coached various teams in Estonia, including Estonia national basketball team between 2001-2004. EuroChallenge 2011–12
FIBA EuroChallenge (called the FIBA Europe League in 2003–05, and FIBA EuroCup in 2005–08) was the 3rd-tier level transnational men's professional continental club basketball competition in Europe, from 2003 to 2015. It was organized and run by FIBA Europe. Korisliiga
The Korisliiga is the top-tier professional basketball league in Finland, comprising the top 12 teams of the country. In its current format, each team plays all other teams two times in the regular season, once at home and once away, for a total of 22 regular season games. The top six teams advances continues to upper stage and the bottom six teams plays lower stage after 22 games, 5 games at home and 5 games at away versus all other teams in stage. The best two teams from lower group joins to playoffs with upper group teams. Playoffs are played best of seven format, except the quarter-finals which are played best of 5 format.
