Tampa Spartans Men's Basketball
The Tampa Spartans are the athletic teams that represent the University of Tampa, located in Tampa, Florida, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Spartans compete as members of the Sunshine State Conference for all sports besides beach volleyball and track and field, which compete as independents. Tampa has been a member of the conference since 1981. National championships Spartan varsity teams have won 19 NCAA Division II National Titles as of December 2022, which is seventh-most among current Division II teams. The NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship is an American intercollegiate college soccer tournament conducted by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to determine the Division II women's national champion. The NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship is the annual championship in men's lacrosse held by the NCAA for teams competing in Division II. Following the institution of a tournament for Division I in 1971 by the NCAA, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association added a "small college" tournament for two years for non-Division I schools. The Florida Southern Moccasins (also shortened to Florida Southern Mocs) are the athletic teams that represent Florida Southern College, located in Lakeland, Florida, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships
The NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships, played in late May, is an annual competition in U.S. men's collegiate golf. From its inception through 2010, it was a 72-hole stroke play team competition, with an additional award for the lowest scoring individual competitor. The team format changed starting in 2011 to 54 holes of stroke play followed by an eight-team single elimination medal match play competition. The 54-hole individual leader is the individual champion. Many of the individual champions have gone on to successful professional careers. The most successful individual winner is Lee Janzen (1986) who won eight times on the PGA Tour including two major championships, the 1993 and 1998 U.S. Opens.
