Tampa Bay United Soccer Club is a soccer club from Tampa, Florida that plays in the Southeast Division in USL League Two. History The club was founded as a youth soccer club in Tampa, Florida, where they are the largest youth team in the city. In 2017, they formed a partnership with professional club Tampa Bay Rowdies, who play in the second-tier USL Championship. As part of the affiliation, TBU rebranded as the Tampa Bay United Rowdies, adopting the Rowdies' green and gold hooped jerseys and wearing the Rowdies logo on their jerseys on their jerseys. As part of the partnership, they became the Rowdies official youth affiliate program. Jesuit High School is a private Catholic, all-male high school run by the U.S. Central and Southern Province of the Society of Jesus in Tampa, Florida. The school was established in 1899 by the Jesuits and operates independently of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint Petersburg. Brian "B.J." Johnson (born March 7, 1974) is a retired American soccer midfielder who spent five seasons in Major League Soccer with the Kansas City Wizards. He is currently the boys' Director of Technical Development and USL League Two head coach for Tampa Bay United. Player In 1992, Johnson graduated from Granada High School in Livermore, California. USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional developmental soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States and Canada, forming part of the United States soccer league system. The Tampa Bay Rowdies are an American professional Association football, soccer team based in St. Petersburg, Florida. The club was founded in 2008 and first took the pitch in 2010. The Tampa Bay Rowdies U23 were an American semi-professional soccer team based in St. Petersburg, Florida. They were the reserve club of USL Championship club Tampa Bay Rowdies. The club is part of the Rowdies Youth Network, which consists of the U23 team in League Two, Rowdies Women (run in partnership with Pinellas County United SC), and the Tampa Bay United Rowdies Development Academy (run in partnership with Tampa Bay United). The United States soccer league system is a series of professional and amateur soccer leagues based, in whole or in part, in the United States. Sometimes called the American soccer pyramid, teams and leagues are not linked by the system of promotion and relegation typical in soccer elsewhere. Instead, the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) defines professional leagues in three levels, called divisions, with all other leagues sanctioned by the USSF not having an official designated level or division.
