Tamir Yadai
Tamir Yadai is an Israeli major general ( aluf) who commands the Ground Forces Command. Biography Yadai joined the IDF in 1988, and was deployed in the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade. He graduated the officer training course as a combat officer and infantry commander. Afterwards he returned to the 51st Battalion and was assigned as a platoon commander. Subsequently, he was assigned to be a company commander in the 51st Battalion. He was then appointed Lieutenant Commander of the 12th Battalion. He later served as an officer of the Golani Brigade. He was then appointed Chief of staff to the IDF Deputy Chief of Staff, Shaul Mofaz. On March 1, 1998, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and appointed commander of the 13th Battalion. During the post, he led a force in the pursuit of a Hamas terrorist in the Hebron region, and was wounded in a collision. Shaul Mofaz
Shaul Mofaz ( he, שאול מופז; 4 November 1948) is a retired Israeli military officer and politician. He joined the Israel Defense Forces in 1966 and served in the Paratroopers Brigade. He fought in the Six-Day War, Yom Kippur War, 1982 Lebanon War, and Operation Entebbe with the paratroopers and Sayeret Matkal, an elite special forces unit. In 1998 he became the IDF's sixteenth Chief of staff serving until 2002. He is of Iranian Jewish ancestry. After leaving the army, he entered politics. He was appointed Minister of Defense in 2002, holding the position until 2006 when he was elected to the Knesset on the Kadima list. Asael Lubotzky
Asael Lubotzky ( he, עשהאל לובוצקי; born 21 January 1983) is an Israeli physician, author, and molecular biologist. Formerly he served as an IDF officer and is a combat veteran of the Second Lebanon War. Military service Asael Lubotzky grew up in Efrat, studied at the Hesder yeshiva in Ma'ale Adumim, was accepted to Shayetet 13, but chose to enlist in Golani's 51st Battalion. Battle Of Bint Jbeil
The Battle of Bint Jbeil was one of the main battles of the 2006 Lebanon War. Bint Jbeil (, Bint Jubayl) is a major town of some 20,000 (mainly Shia) inhabitants in Southern Lebanon. Although Brig.-Gen. Gal Hirsch announced on 25 July that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had "complete control" of Bint Jbeil, this statement was later discredited. In spite of three sustained attempts by the IDF to conquer the town, it remained in the hands of Hezbollah until the end of the war.
