Avraham Tamir
Avraham Tamir ( he, אברהם טמיר; 9 November 192420 December 2010), also known as Abrasha or Avrasha Tamir, was an Israeli soldier and statesman. Born in the Mandate of Palestine, Tamir joined the British Army as part of the Jewish Brigade, serving in World War II, and became a commanding officer in the Haganah. This gave him a command in the Israel-Palestine war, where he defended the Etzion bloc during the Kfar Etzion massacre, ultimately being captured wounded. When Israel was founded, he joined the Israel Defense Forces, rising to the rank of major general (''Aluf''). During his time with the IDF he served in the Yom Kippur War and 1982 Lebanon War as well as several Cold War conflicts in the Middle East. Specialising in national security and military strategy, after his military career he became an advisor to leading Israeli politicians, and contributed to the Camp David Accords. Tamir Rice
On November 22, 2014, Tamir E. Rice, a 12-year-old African-American boy, was killed in Cleveland, Ohio, by Timothy Loehmann, a 26-year-old white police officer. Rice was carrying a replica toy gun; Loehmann shot him almost immediately upon arriving on the scene. Two officers, Loehmann and 46-year-old Frank Garmback, were responding to a police dispatch call regarding a male who had a gun. A caller reported that a male was pointing "a pistol" at random people at the Cudell Recreation Center, a park in the City of Cleveland's Public Works Department. At the beginning of the call and again in the middle, he says of the pistol "it's probably fake." Toward the end of the two-minute call the caller states that "he is probably a juvenile", but the dispatcher did not relay either of these statements to Loehmann and Garmback. He is currently J Street Israel's new Executive Director and a senior advisor for governmental and international affairs in the Peres Center for Peace. Tamir “Seth” Saban (תמיר סבן; born October 19, 1999) is an American-Israeli professional basketball player for Maccabi Haifa of the Liga Leumit. Standing at 6 ft 3 in (1.91 meters), he primarily plays at the shooting guard and point guard positions.
