Tamil Nadu Rice Research Institute
The Tamil Nadu Rice Research Institute (TRRI) is an Indian research institute working in the field of rice under Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU). Situated in Maruthuvakudi, Aduthurai, in Thanjavur district, it was established in April, 1985 in TNAU to meet the research requirements of the region with the help of existing Agricultural Colleges and Research centres and perform lead function for rice and rice based cropping system research. TRRI coordinate the research programmes of all the stations of the state on rice and rice based cropping system research. This directorate responsible for coordinating research in the Region II of the TNAU. Governor Of Tamil Nadu
The governor of Tamil Nadu is the head of state of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The governors have similar powers and functions at the state level as those of the president of India at central level. Maruthuvakudi
Maruthuvakudi, also known as Aduthurai is a small panchayat town situated near Kumbakonam,in the Thanjavur District in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the sub urban region of business city of Kumbakonam. Etymology Maruthuvakudi takes its name from the demon Maruthuvasura, who lived there according to legend. The name Aduthurai comes from the Tamil word ThenKurangaduthurai, which translates to "southern land where monkeys used to dance". The epic tales of Ramayana, in which monkeys play an important role, and especially the tales of Hanuman, may be linked to this name. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) is the state agricultural university of Tamil Nadu located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. History The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University had its genesis from establishment of an agricultural school at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, as early as 1868 which was later relocated at Coimbatore during 1906. In 1920, it was affiliated to Madras University. TNAU assumed full responsibilities of Agricultural Education and Research and supported the State Agricultural Department by delivering research products.
