Tamara Kvesitadze
Tamara Kvesitadze ( ka, თამარა კვესიტაძე; born 1968) is a Georgian artist and sculptor. She is best known for her sculpture "Man and Woman", later renamed "Ali and Nino", designed in 2007 and installed on the seafront in Batumi, Georgia since 2010. Batumi
Batumi (; ka, ბათუმი ) is the second largest city of Georgia and the capital of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, located on the coast of the Black Sea in Georgia's southwest. Ali And Nino
''Ali and Nino'' is a novel about a romance between a Muslim Azerbaijani people, Azerbaijani boy and Christians, Christian Georgians, Georgian girl in Baku in the years 1918–1920. It explores the dilemmas created by "European" rule over an "Oriental" society and presents a tableau portrait of Azerbaijan's capital, Baku, during the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic period that preceded the long era of Soviet Union, Soviet rule. It was published under the pseudonym Kurban Said. The novel has been published in more than 30 languages, with more than 100 editions or reprints. The book was first published in Vienna in German in 1937, by E.P. Tal Verlag. It is widely regarded as a literary masterpiece and since its rediscovery and global circulation, which began in 1970, it is commonly considered the national novel of Azerbaijan. Glebe Place
Glebe Place is a street in Chelsea, London. It runs roughly north to south from King's Road to the crossroads with Upper Cheyne Row, where it becomes Cheyne Row, leading down to Cheyne Walk and the River Thames. It also has a junction with Bramerton Street. The street was known as Cook's Ground for some period up to the mid-nineteenth century. Chelsea is an affluent area in west London, England, due south-west of Charing Cross by approximately 2.5 miles.
