''Tamar'' is the debut studio album by American R&B singer Tamar Braxton. It was released on March 21, 2000, by DreamWorks Records and RedZone Entertainment. The album features guest appearances from Missy Elliott, Jermaine Dupri and Amil, while the production handled by Tim & Bob, Tricky Stewart, among others. Originally entitled ''Ridiculous'', it debuted at number 127 on the US ''Billboard'' 200 and number 42 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Braxton later admitted in interviews for her second album '' Love and War'' that she was not fond of this album due to not having any creative control. Tamar Estine Braxton (born March 17, 1977) is an American singer and television personality. Braxton began her career in 1990 as a founding member of The Braxtons, an R&B singing group formed with her sisters. The Braxtons released their debut album, ''So Many Ways'', as a trio in 1996, and disbanded shortly afterward. In 2000, she released her debut self-titled album through DreamWorks Records. Following a thirteen-year break, Braxton released her second studio album, '' Love and War'' (2013), through Epic Records, which reached the number two position on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. LaTocha Reney Scott (born October 2, 1973) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, and occasional actress. Lincoln Browder, (born October 12, 1964) better known by his stage name Link, is an American R&B singer from Dallas, Texas. Career Browder sang in gospel choirs as a youngster and in a group in high school. Darrell Delite Allamby recruited him to sing in the R&B group Protege. After writing the hit " My Body" for the R&B supergroup LSG, Link was offered his own recording contract with Relativity Records.
