Talpa Network is a Dutch media conglomerate created by John de Mol Jr. in 2017. History Talpa Network was created in 2017 by John de Mol when he merged all his various media assets, De Mol wanted to create a Dutch media conglomerate that could stand against foreign media companies entering the Dutch market. Talpa Holding and Sanoma acquired SBS Broadcasting in 2011, the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets forced De Mol to sell his minority stake in RTL Nederland. De Mol would remain a minority shareholder in SBS Broadcasting, until 2017 when his Talpa Holding acquired all remaining shares in SBS Broadcasting from Sanoma for €237 million. Talpa De Allende
Talpa de Allende is a city and municipality in Jalisco, Mexico. Surrounded by pine-covered mountains, Talpa de Allende is a silver mining town founded by the Spanish in 1599. The name "Allende" is in honor of General Ignacio Allende. Talpa is the destination of a popular pilgrimage route. In the center of Talpa is the church of ''Nuestra Señora del Rosario'', which is the location of the tiny ''Virgen del Rosario'' statue, also called "La Chaparrita", meaning the short one, who they believe does miracles. Her birthday is celebrated October 7, where millions of people walk to Talpa every year. Another date she is visited is during Easter Week. Approximately 3 million people attended to the celebrations of "La Chaparrita" yearly. The walk can be anywhere from a few kilometers to a hundred or more depending on the starting point. ''Talpa'' is a genus in the mole family Talpidae. Among the first taxa in science, Carolus Linnaeus used the Latin word for "moles", ''talpa'', in his Regnum Animale to refer to the commonly known European form of mole. The group has since been expanded to include 13 extant species, found primarily in Europe and western Asia. The European mole, found throughout most of Europe, is a member of this genus, as are several species restricted to small ranges. One species, Père David's mole, is data deficient. These moles eat earthworms, insects, and other invertebrates found in the soil. The females of this genus have rudimentary male features such as Cowper's glands and a two-lobed prostate. Tien (meaning '' Ten'' in Dutch), previously known as Talpa, was the name of a commercial television channel in the Netherlands. Tien opened on August 13, 2005 as Talpa, following a name dispute with SBS Broadcasting. SBS owned the trademark " TV10" and objected to the use of the word Tien. The owner of Tien, Dutch media mogul John de Mol, decided to rebrand the channel as ''Talpa'', the Latin word for "mole", which is ''mol'' in Dutch. Subsequently Talpa became the name of De Mol's holding company. In the first months Talpa shared its channel space with Nickelodeon. On December 16, 2006, Nickelodeon switched to The Box and Tien started broadcasting full days. In December 2006, Talpa and SBS Broadcasting solved their dispute. Talpa was renamed as Tien. Talpa is a settlement in Taos County, New Mexico, located south of the town of Taos along New Mexico Highway 518. History First named Rio Chiquito for the river running through the area, Talpa was settled during the early-18th century during the time that nearby Ranchos de Taos began to be settled. The settlement is on the old Spanish land grant of Don Cristobal de la Sena.
