Tallinn Law School
Tallinn Law School (TLS) ( et, TTÜ õiguse instituut) is one of the departments of Faculty of Social Sciences of Tallinn University of Technology and one of three law schools operating in Estonia. Although the law school offers basic education in all areas of law, it is focused in research and specialised studies in European law, public law and technology law. TLS consists of four structural units: Chair of Public Law, Chair of Law & Technology and Jean Monnet Chair of European Law and Human Rights Centre. History Initially founded within Concordia International University Estonia (CIUE) in 1996, the Law School started with 100 students who are now prominent lawyers and legal professionals in Estonia and abroad. The first Dean of the Law School was Frank Emmert, who was followed by Tanel Kerikmäe in 2002. Tallinn University Of Technology
Established in 1918, Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech; et, Tallinna Tehnikaülikool) is the only technical university in Estonia. TalTech, in the capital city of Tallinn, is a university for engineering, business, public administration and maritime affairs. TalTech has colleges in Tartu and Kohtla-Järve. Despite the similar names, Tallinn University and Tallinn University of Technology are separate institutions. History In the early twentieth century, Estonia recognised an urgent need for locally trained engineering specialists. Until then, young people from Estonia had received their specialist education in St. Petersburg, Germany or Riga. Concordia International University Estonia
Concordia International University Estonia (CIUE) was a private university in Tallinn, Estonia. It was established in 1993 as the Estonian campus of the Concordia International University, a private institution established in Milwaukee in 1992, renamed Wisconsin International University in 1995. It was accredited by the Estonia Minister of Education to offer a bachelor's degree in international business. Its relation with Wisconsin International University was severed in 1996 and CIUE became an independent institution. In 2003 Concordia University merged with International University Audentes. Between 2003 and 2006 as International University Concordia Audentes, it offered academic programs in law, business, media and social sciences for students studying in English. International University Audentes
International University Audentes (IUA; et, Rahvusvaheline Ülikool Audentes) was Estonia's largest private university, situated in the country's capital city Tallinn. As of 1 July 2008, it has merged with Tallinn University of Technology (TUT) and will constitute TUT's Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. The full structural merger was completed by June 2009. History The number of students in the 2006/2007 academic year was 2300. The programs are offered in three languages - English, Estonian and Russian. Students came from 22 countries and the faculty from 12 countries. The university was built on three academic schools: a business school, a law school, and a school of social sciences and humanities.
