Talleres De Córdoba
Club Atlético Talleres (; (lit. Workshops Athletic Club) mostly known simply as Talleres (lit. Workshops) or Talleres de Córdoba ) (Córdoba Workshops) is an Argentine sports club from the city of Córdoba. The institution is mostly known for its football team, which currently plays in the Argentine Primera División. Talleres' main rival is Belgrano: Their rivalry is known as ''"el clásico cordobés"''. In field hockey, the club is affiliated to amateur Córdoba Field Hockey Federation, where its teams compete. The Campeonato Nacional was one of the two football tournaments that formed the Primera División season (along with the Metropolitano championship) since 1967. Primera Nacional (usually called simply Nacional B, in English "National B Division", and known as Primera B Nacional until the 2019–20 season) is the second division of the Argentine football league system. The competition is made up of 37 teams. It is played by teams from all over the country. Clubs from Buenos Aires surroundings, as well as some from Santa Fe Province, are promoted from or relegated to the Primera B Metropolitana ("Metropolitan B Division") while for teams from the other provinces the Torneo Federal A ("Federal A Tournament") is the next level down. Metropolitano Championship
The Metropolitano championship ("Campeonato Metropolitano") was an Argentine football tournament which existed between 1967 and 1984. The Metropolitano formed one half of the Primera División, taking place in the first half of the year, while the Nacional championship ("Campeonato Nacional") took place in the 2nd half of the year. This arrangement lasted until 1982 when they were reversed. The Metropolitano and Nacional were abandoned to make way for European style seasons beginning in 1985–1986. Osvaldo Ardiles
Osvaldo César Ardiles (born 3 August 1952), often referred to in Britain as Ossie Ardiles, is an Argentine football manager, pundit and former midfielder who won the 1978 FIFA World Cup as part of the Argentina national team. He now runs his own football school in the UK called the Ossie Ardiles Soccer School. A competitive and skilled midfielder, Ardiles became a cult hero in England, along with Glenn Hoddle and compatriot Ricardo Villa, as a player for Tottenham Hotspur. He left England for a period on loan as a result of the outbreak of the Falklands War in 1982, thus missing most of the 1982–83 English season. Mario Alberto Kempes Chiodi (; born 15 July 1954) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a striker or attacking midfielder. A prolific goalscorer, he finished as La Liga's top goalscorer twice with Valencia and amassed 116 goals in 184 league games for the club. At international level, Kempes was the focal point of Argentina's 1978 World Cup win where he scored twice in the final and received the Golden Boot as top goalscorer. Miguel Oviedo
Miguel Ángel Oviedo (born 12 October 1950 in Córdoba) is an Argentine former football midfielder who was part of the Argentina squad that won the 1978 FIFA World Cup. Oviedo played his entire club career in the Argentine league system, starting with Instituto de Córdoba in 1973. In 1974, he was signed by Instituto's fierce local rivals Talleres de Córdoba. Over the next eight years Talleres were one of the strongest teams in Argentina, they reached several Semi-Finals in the Nacional championships and lost the final in 1977 on the away goals rule to Club Atlético Independiente. In 1983 Oviedo joined Independiente, helping the team to win the Metropolitano 1983 championship in his first season with the club and the Copa Libertadores in his second season.
