Tallahassee Soccer Club is an American soccer club based in Tallahassee, Florida that competes in the National Premier Soccer League. It formerly played in the Gulf Coast Premier League. History Tallahassee SC was founded on May 3, 2018, by residents of Tallahassee, FL, Leon County, FL including Chris Petley, Mike Bonfanti and 4 others looking to bring a semi-professional soccer team to Tallahassee. In February 2019, Josh Bruno was named as the first head coach of the team. The club played its first ever match against the Savannah Clovers on May 4, 2019, in front of over 600 fans at the FSU Intramural Fields. Tallahassee Soccer Club GK Hugo Peruzzi was named GCPL Eastern Conference MVP and coach Josh Bruno selected Coach of the Year after TLHSC won the conference in its inaugural season. Gene Cox Stadium
Hurley W. Rudd Field at Gene Cox Stadium is a municipal American football venue for local teams in Tallahassee, FL. It seats approximately 5,500 fans, but can accommodate up to 1,000 additional people. It currently serves all nine public middle schools and five public high schools in Leon County. It is adjacent to the North Florida Fairgrounds. History The stadium was built in 1969 when the addition of a third high school called for the construction of a shared central sports facility. A location bordering the North Florida Fairgrounds, on the south side of town, was selected. Originally called Capital Stadium, its name was changed in 1998 to honor local high school coaching legend Gene Cox shortly after his retirement. National Premier Soccer League
The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American men's association football, soccer league. The NPSL is a semi-professional league, comprising some teams that have paid players and some that are entirely amateur. The league is officially affiliated to the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and has automatic qualification for the U.S. Open Cup. It is the successor of the Men's Premier Soccer League, a regional league originally based in the Western United States, which has now expanded nationwide to encompass teams from 29 states. The Gulf Coast Premier League (GCPL) is a United States Adult Soccer Association affiliated Amateur Elite League that includes teams from Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The regular season of the GCPL runs May through July. Pensacola FC is an American professional soccer team based in Pensacola, Florida the men's side competes in the National Premier Soccer League and the women's side competes in the Women's Premier Soccer League.
