''Tales of Mystery'' was a British supernatural television drama anthology series based on the short stories of Algernon Blackwood. It was broadcast by ITV (Associated-Rediffusion) and ran over three seasons from 1961–1963. Produced by Peter Graham Scott, each episode was 25 minutes long and introduced by John Laurie John Paton Laurie (25 March 1897 – 23 June 1980) was a Scottish actor. Algernon Henry Blackwood, CBE (14 March 1869 – 10 December 1951) was an English broadcasting narrator, journalist, novelist and short story writer, and among the most prolific ghost story writers in the history of the genre. The literary critic S. T.
