Talatala Po'oi
Talatala oe Toetu Po'oi (born 30 March 1997) is a Tongan Track and field, Athlete who has represented Tonga at the Commonwealth Games, Pacific Games, and Pacific Mini Games. He has also been a member of the Tonga national under-20 football team. Po'oi is from Neiafu (Vavaʻu), Neiafu in the province of Vavaʻu. In 2016 he was selected as a member of the Tonga national under-20 football team for the 2016 OFC U-20 Championship. He played in the match against the Cook Islands national under-20 football team, Cook Islands. At the 2017 Pacific Mini Games in Port Vila he won gold in the 110 metres hurdles and bronze in the 400 metres hurdles. At the 2019 Pacific Games in Apia he won silver in the 110 metres hurdles. Following the games he was granted land in Vavaʻu by governor Lord Fakatulolo. Neiafu (Vavaʻu)
Neiafu is the second-largest town in Tonga with a population of 3,845 in 2021. It is situated beside the Port of Refuge, a deep-water harbour on the south coast of Vavaʻu, the main island of the Vavaʻu archipelago in northern Tonga. To the north-west lies the Mt. 2019 Pacific Games
The 2019 Pacific Games was the sixteenth edition of the Pacific Games. The Games were held in Apia, Samoa, returning there for the first time since 2007. It was the third time overall that the Pacific Games were held in Samoa. The event was initially awarded to Nukuʻalofa, Tonga, but the Tongan government officially withdrew from hosting it in May 2017, amid concerns the country could face economic difficulties if it proceeded. These Games included an additional discipline for basketball, which is the 3x3 format, as well as the return of archery and badminton which were not on the 2015 Pacific Games program.
