Tala Rugby Club
Tala Rugby Club, or simply Tala, is an Argentine rugby union and field hockey club sited in Córdoba Province. The rugby team currently plays in the Torneo de Córdoba, the first division of the Unión Cordobesa de Rugby league system. Tala is the most winning club of Córdoba, with 23 titles to date. History "Tala Rugby Club" was founded in Córdoba on November 11, 1944, by rugby enthusiasts from the General Paz, Juniors and Alta Córdoba districts. The institution was established in a train carriage located on the land of one of the founders. This carriage was used as the first headquarters and became a symbol of the club's bohemian spirit. Tala chose black and white as the club's colours after being offered a set of playing kits which had been originally made for disbanded Club Pampero by a sporting goods store from the city. The Córdoba Rugby Union ( es, Unión Cordobesa de Rugby) (also known for its initials UCR) is the organisational body that rules the game of rugby union in Córdoba province of Argentina. Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes, with a capacity of 57,000, is used for rugby matches. History The union was founded in order to encourage the practice of rugby union in Córdoba. Founding members were Universitario, Gimnasia y Esgrima, Córdoba Rugby, Curupaytí y San Vicente (Fomento Sport Club by then), officially establishing the body on April 17, 1931. Captain Montes was named as president. Gimnasia y Esgrima de Buenos Aires and Curupaytí played the first inter-provincial match, on May 24, 1931. Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. The Torneo Nacional de Clubes is a club rugby union competition in Argentina, organised by the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR). The Nacional de Clubes is the main club competition in Argentine rugby, being contested by a total of 16 teams, 8 from Buenos Aires and 8 from the rest of the provinces of Argentina. There is also a second division, "Nacional de Clubes B", with a similar format. History From 1993 to 2008, the competition involved 16 clubs, which were divided into four zones. La Tablada Rugby Club is a rugby union and field hockey club based in the city of Córdoba, Argentina. Founded in 1943 as a social institution, La Tablada started its sports activities in the 1950s. History First named "El Club de la Parroquia de La Tablada" it was originally a social club founded by members of La Tablada parish in Córdoba. Some members of this club were already playing rugby for Córdoba Athletic and decided to form their own team. Torneo Del Interior
The Torneo del Interior A is an annual rugby union competition in Argentina. The competition involves clubs from all provincial unions outside Buenos Aires. Teams qualify from different tournaments along the provinces of Argentina, such as Litoral, Noroeste, Córdoba, Nordeste, Pampeano, Oeste and Patagónico. There are also two lower divisions of Torneo del Interior, "Interior B" and "Interior C", with a similar format.
