Extreme (band)
Extreme is an American Rock music, rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1985, that reached the height of their popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s with original lineup Gary Cherone (lead vocals), Nuno Bettencourt (guitars and keyboards), Paul Geary (drums and percussion), and Pat Badger (bass guitar). With the exclusion of Geary, the lineup has remained unchanged. Their current drummer is Kevin Figueiredo. They have released five studio albums, two EPs (in Japan) and two compilation albums since their formation. The band was one of the most successful rock acts of the early 1990s, selling over 10 million albums worldwide. Extreme achieved their greatest success with their 1990 album ''Pornograffitti'', which peaked at number 10 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200, and was certified gold in May 1991 and double platinum in October 1992. That album featured the Steel-string acoustic guitar, acoustic ballad single "More Than Words", which reached No. 1 on the ...

Rest In Peace (song)
"Rest in Peace" is the first single from American rock band Extreme's third studio album, ''III Sides to Every Story''. The single was released in August 1992. Lyrical content The lyrics are targeted at those who banalize peace when "pretending our hearts are in the right place", or those whose "face shows a trace of hypocrisy". It is then suggested "we can't afford to say these words lightly", "or else our world will truly rest in peace". Music video The original music video for the song was inspired by Norman McLaren's short film called ''Neighbours'' in which, instead of a flower, the neighbors fight over a TV set showing the band performing the song. The band was sued, but the controversy was quickly settled out of court. They later released a new version of the video, consisting only of the performance montage of the band on a white cyclorama which was displayed on the television set in the original video. Chart performance The song reached the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 cha ...

1 (one, unit, unity) is a number representing a single or the only entity. 1 is also a numerical digit and represents a single unit of counting or measurement. For example, a line segment of ''unit length'' is a line segment of length 1. In conventions of sign where zero is considered neither positive nor negative, 1 is the first and smallest positive integer. It is also sometimes considered the first of the infinite sequence of natural numbers, followed by  2, although by other definitions 1 is the second natural number, following  0. The fundamental mathematical property of 1 is to be a multiplicative identity, meaning that any number multiplied by 1 equals the same number. Most if not all properties of 1 can be deduced from this. In advanced mathematics, a multiplicative identity is often denoted 1, even if it is not a number. 1 is by convention not considered a prime number; this was not universally accepted until the mid-20th century. The song was released as the fourth and final single and closing track from their successful ''Pornograffitti'' album in 1991 and reached 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100. It also charted at No. 12 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 2 in Canada. The song ends with the sound of a thunderstorm, which closes ''Pornograffiti'', similar to how "Decadence Dance" (the lead single and opening track on ''Pornograffiti'') begins with the same sounds and starts the album. Although the song's chart position was lower compared to the band's previous hit, "More Than Words" (No. 1 in the US, No. 2 in the UK), it remains their second-highest charting song overall. III Sides To Every Story
''III Sides to Every Story'' (pronounced 3 Sides to Every Story) is the third album by the Boston funk-metal band Extreme, released in 1992. It was the follow-up to the very successful '' Pornograffitti'' album. It was the last album that fully featured the band's original line-up: Gary Cherone, Nuno Bettencourt, Pat Badger and Paul Geary; Geary later left, and was replaced by Mike Mangini. Overview The album is structured as a concept album in three sections labeled as "sides"—a play on the notion of "different sides to a story" and that of "sides" of an album (in LP and cassette media). The sides, mentioned in the song "Cupid's Dead" as "three sides to every story" are named "Yours", "Mine" and "The Truth", and each features a distinct musical style and lyrical imagery. Although this was their third record, bootleg recordings from Extreme's earlier days confirm that at least two tracks for this album ('Warheads' & 'Our Father') existed and were performed in almost identica ...

More Than Words
"More Than Words" is a song by American rock band Extreme, released as the fifth track and third single from their second album, ''Pornograffitti'' (1990), in March 1991. It is a ballad built around acoustic guitar work by Nuno Bettencourt and the vocals of Gary Cherone (with harmony vocals from Bettencourt). The song is a detour from the funk metal style that permeates the band's records. As such, it has often been described as "a blessing and a curse" due to its overwhelming success and recognition worldwide, but the band ultimately embraced it and plays it at every show. Content The song is a ballad in which the singer wants his lover to do more to prove her love other than saying the phrase "I love you." Bettencourt described it as a warning that the phrase was becoming meaningless: "People use it so easily and so lightly that they think you can say that and fix everything, or you can say that and everything's OK. Sometimes you have to do more and you have to show it—there ...
