Takatak
Takatak is a Pakistani progressive metal/ djent band from Lahore, Punjab, formed in 2009. Takatak is one of the few metal bands currently active in Pakistan. The band released its first album, ''Acrophase'', in October 2020, more than 10 years after the band was formed. Background Formed in 2009, Takatak initially had three members, Zain Peerzada, Yusuf Ramay and Syed Misbahuddin. The group's current line-up consists of Zain Peerzada and Luke Azariah on guitars, Yusuf Ramay and Daud Ramay on drums, Altamash Sever and Ali Suhail on vocals and Isa Najam on bass. Takatak initially remained active for three years before going into a hiatus in 2012. They made a comeback in 2018, when they headlined at the Lahore Music Meet with two new songs, Voyager and Phantom. This was a turning point for the band. ''Velo Sound Station'' is a Pakistani television programme and music show which features live studio-recorded music performances by veteran and emerging artists. Djent () is a subgenre of progressive metal characterised by its use of off-beat and complex rhythm patterns. Its distinctive sound is that of high-gain, distorted, palm-muted, down-tuned strings. The name "djent" is an onomatopoeia of this sound. Skyharbor is an Indian/American progressive metal band with members from New Delhi and Mumbai, India; and Cleveland, Ohio, US. History The band was initially guitarist Keshav Dhar's studio project, before TesseracT vocalist Daniel Tompkins contacted Dhar with an interest in collaborating with him in October 2010. Around the same time, Dhar and Maryland-based drummer Anup Sastry ( Jeff Loomis, Intervals), who had uploaded several videos of himself performing Skyharbor songs to his YouTube channel, discussed the possibility of taking the material to the live stage. Nighat Chaudhry (classical Dancer)
Nighat Chaudhry ( Urdu: نگہت چودھری) is born on 24 February, in Lahore, Pakistan and moved to London when she was one year old. She is a trained Sufi & Mystique Kathak classical dancer. She started her journey from London and has been active as a professional Kathak dancer for over three decades. She studied ballet and contemporary dance. She met Nahid Siddiqui at age of fourteen, regarded as one of the greatest Kathak dancers and trained under her guidance. Inspired to learn the classical forms of her own culture, she abandoned ballet and join to understand and absorb the nuances of the style. This required her to be closer to its origins and she moved back to Pakistan.
