Tajikistan At The 2012 Summer Olympics
Tajikistan competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This was the nation's fifth consecutive appearance at the Olympics. The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Tajikistan sent the nation's largest delegation to the Games. A total of 16 athletes, 13 men and 3 women, competed in 7 sports. Six of these athletes had competed in Beijing, including judoka Rasul Boqiev and freestyle wrestler Yusup Abdusalomov, who both won Tajikistan's first ever Olympic medals. Tajikistan left London with only a single medal, following its successful Olympics in Beijing. Boxer Mavzuna Chorieva, who won the bronze in women's lightweight division, set a historic Olympic record, as the nation's first female medalist in history, and first female flag bearer at the opening ceremony. The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Tajikistan (NOC) is a sports governing body that was established in 1992 to manage Tajikistan, Tajikistan's activities in relation to the Olympics. The office of the NOC is located in the center of the city, on Sadriddin Aini, Aini Street in Dushanbe. The current National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan is headed by Bakhrullo Radzhabaliev (President) and Shirinjon Mamadsafoev (Secretary General). Boxing At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's Middleweight
The men's middleweight boxing competition at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held from 28 July to 12 August at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre. Twenty-eight boxers from 28 nations were competed. Ryōta Murata, representing Japan, won the gold medal, defeating Brazil's Esquiva Falcão in the final. Both semi-finalists, Anthony Ogogo and Abbos Atoev from Great Britain and Uzbekistan respectively, were awarded bronze medals. Competition format The competition consisted of a single-elimination tournament. Bronze medals were awarded to both semi-final losers. is a Japanese judoka. He is a two-time lightweight world champion and an Olympic silver medalist. He was also a finalist at the 2015 World Championships.
