Taiwo (variant forms: Taiye, Taye, Taiyewo) is a name of Yoruba origin meaning "the first twin to taste the world" or the one who comes before Kehinde. Although Taiwo is the firstborn twin, in Yoruba belief Taiwo is considered the younger twin, having been sent into the world by Kehinde to determine if it is the right time to be born. Taye Ismaila Taiwo (born 16 April 1985) is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Kakkonen club SalPa. Having been a ranks of Gabros International and Lobi Stars, Taiwo moved to France by joining Marseille, where he had a successful spell at the club, winning Ligue 1, Coupe de la Ligue and Trophée des Champions. Taiwo Odubiyi (born 29 May 1965) is a Nigerian author, international speaker, a marriage and relationship counsellor. She is the senior associate pastor, alongside her husband, Reverend Sola Odubiyi, of The Still Waters Church International with headquarters in Ikorodu, Lagos, Nigeria. Solomon Oladiran Taiwo (born 29 April 1985) is a Nigerian footballer who plays for Faversham Town. He previously played for a number of clubs at Conference South level and below before joining League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge in 2007. Thomas James William Taiwo (born 27 February 1990) is an English former footballer who played as a midfielder. An England under-17 international, he graduated out of the Chelsea academy to turn professional in 2008, having switched from the Leeds United Academy two years earlier. He never appeared for the first team, and instead enjoyed a brief loan spell at Port Vale, before he joined Carlisle United on a loan deal that was made permanent in January 2010. Cornelius Olaleye Taiwo (27 October 1910 – 8 April 2014) was a Nigerian educator and lawyer. Early life and education Taiwo was born on 27 October 1910, at Oru-Ijebu in Ogun State, Nigeria, to Isaac and Lydia Taiwo. Lycett is a feminist and was the first editor of ''Africa Woman'' magazine in the 1970s. Ibrahim Taiwo (died 13 February 1976) was a Military Governor of Kwara State from July 1975 to February 1976 during the military regime of General Murtala Mohammed.
