Taipei Main Station (Taoyuan Metro)
Taipei Main Station is the eastern terminus of the Taoyuan Airport MRT in Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan. Located roughly west of Taipei railway station and east of Beimen metro station, the station is connected to the Taipei railway station through a long underground walkway, and to Beimen station through another underground walkway. It is the busiest station of the Taoyuan Airport MRT. The station is served by both express and commuter trains, and provides in-town check in services for outbound flights. Currently, four airlines offer this service. Overview This three-level, underground station has two island platforms with four tracks. It is equipped with eight accessible elevators and seven exits. Beimen Station (Taipei Metro)
The Taipei Metro Beimen station is a station on the Songshan line located in Datong District, Taipei City, Taiwan. Station overview This four-level, underground station has two side platforms. It is located beneath Tacheng St. beneath Civic Blvd. and Zhongxiao West Rd. It was scheduled to open in December 2013 with the launch of the Songshan Line. However, the opening of Beimen station was delayed until 15 November 2014. The southeastern part of the station connects to the Taipei City Mall, which connects through to Taipei Main Station. The Taipei Bus Station () is a multi-use complex located next to Taipei Station in Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan. The complex houses the Taipei bus terminal station provided a number of intercity express bus routes which was inaugurated on 19 August 2009, as well as recreational and leisure facilities. The Taipei Twin Towers () is a supertall skyscraper development in Taipei, Taiwan. Scheduled to be completed in 2027, it includes two skyscrapers, the taller of which is with 74 floors and the shorter of which is with 55 floors. It is located near Taipei Station, Shin Kong Life Tower, and Taipei Bus Station. When the complex is complete, it will be the second tallest building in Taiwan, surpassing the 85 Sky Tower in Kaohsiung, which was completed in 1997. Shin Kong Life Tower
Shin Kong Life Tower (), at 51 stories and a height of , is one of Taiwan's earliest skyscrapers. The rose-colored tower topped by a pyramid stands in Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taipei, and dates from 1993. Its first twelve floors and two underground floors house a Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store; the remaining floors provide office space and serve as headquarters for the Shin Kong Group, Shin Kong Life insurance company. The building stands across Zhongxiao Road from Taipei Main Station near the Asiaworld Department Store. The Shin Kong Life Tower was Taiwan's tallest building when it opened in 1993. Taipei City Mall () is a shopping center located at the intersection of the Datong and Zhongzheng districts in Taipei, Taiwan. It is the first underground market in Taipei City. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks.
