Taggart
''Taggart'' is a Scottish detective fiction television programme created by Glenn Chandler, who wrote many of the episodes, and made by STV Studios for the ITV network. It originally ran as the miniseries "Killer" from 6 until 20 September 1983, before a full series was commissioned that ran from 2 July 1985 until 7 November 2010. The series revolved around a group of detectives initially in the Maryhill CID of Strathclyde Police, though various storylines were set in other parts of Greater Glasgow and in other areas of Scotland. The team operated out of the fictional John Street police station. Mark McManus, who played the title character Jim Taggart, died in 1994. However, the series continued under the same name. ''Taggart'' was one of the UK's longest-running television dramas and the longest-running police drama after the cancellation of ''The Bill''. Samantha "Sam" Taggart is a fictional character on the NBC television drama '' ER''. She is played by actress Linda Cardellini. Linda Cardellini's addition into the main cast opening credits was in the fifth episode of season 10. Precursor Sam is a nurse and single mother; she has a son, Alex (played first by Oliver Davis, later by Dominic Janes). Alex was born when she was fifteen; she has had to raise him mostly on her own. ''Taggart'' is a 1964 American Western film directed by R. G. Springsteen and starring Tony Young and Dan Duryea. It was the film debut of David Carradine. Plot Just arriving at their newly bought land, Kent Taggart's family has their cattle stampeded and they are murdered by Ben Blazer and his son. Blazer results seriously wounded. Later in a fair gunfight Kent kills Blazer's son. With his last breath, Blazer sends three gunfighters to find and kill Kent: Vince August, Cal Dodge, and Jay Jason, who is a particularly talkative and vicious killer. In his escape, Taggart heads towards territory that has fallen in Apache hands, followed by the gunfighters. In a semiabandoned town, Taggart helps a lady in trouble at a saloon, getting in return her help and the bartender's. Caught by the gunfighters, he manages to kill Cal and flee. Taggart Hall
Taggart Hall is a late 18th-century residence that houses the Fort Mill Ridge Foundation and its Fort Mill Ridge Civil War Trenches museum, the Hampshire County Visitors Bureau, and the Hampshire County Chamber of Commerce. It is at 91 South High Street, Romney, West Virginia. Next to Taggart Hall on Gravel Lane is Romney's oldest structure, the Wilson-Wodrow-Mytinger House (c. 1760). Frances Taggart (Tygart), a Quaker, constructed Taggart Hall in the 1790s on a lot at the corner of High Street and Gravel Lane laid out in the original 1762 Romney survey conducted on behalf of Thomas Fairfax, 6th Lord Fairfax of Cameron. Taggart Hall was initially built as a clapboard "half-house".
