"Taffy" is a song written and sung by Lisa Loeb. The song was recorded in 1995. It is featured on her album '' Tails'', and her 2006 greatest hits album, '' The Very Best of Lisa Loeb''. The lyrics are addressed to a person who is habitually dishonest in dealing with others, with the line "Sometimes you tell the truth like you're pulling taffy" serving as an accusation of stretching the truth. Although the song was not a very successful single, it was moderately successful on radio. Lisa Loeb (; born March 11, 1968) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, author and actress. She started her career with the number 1 hit song "Stay (I Missed You)" from the film '' Reality Bites,'' the first number 1 single for an artist without a recording contract. She achieved two additional Top 20 singles with "Do You Sleep?" in 1996 and " I Do" in 1998. Her studio albums include two back-to-back albums that were certified gold; these were '' Tails'' and '' Firecracker.'' Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles (also known as Bubbling Under the Hot 100) is a chart published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine in the United States. The chart lists the top songs that have not yet charted on the main ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Chart rankings are based on radio airplay, sales, and streams. In its initial years, the chart listed 15 positions, but expanded to as many as 36 during the 1960s, particularly during years when over 700 singles made the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000.
