Tadjidine Ben Said Massounde ( ar, تاج الدين بن سعيد مسوندي, 1933 in Anjouan – February 29, 2004) was a Comoros, Comorian politician. Biography Massounde served as Heads of government of the Comoros, Prime Minister from 27 March 1996 to 27 December 1996. After the death of President of Comoros, President Mohamed Taki Abdoulkarim on 6 November 1998, he became interim President. His government was overthrown in a 30 April 1999 military coup led by Colonel Azali Assoumani. Anjouan
Anjouan (; also known as Ndzuwani or Nzwani, and historically as Johanna or Hinzuan) is an autonomous high island in the Indian Ocean that forms part of the Union of the Comoros. Its chief town is Mutsamudu and, , its population is around 277,500. The total area of the island is 424 square kilometers (163 square miles). History Early and colonial history The first inhabitants of the island were explorers and immigrants from Indonesia and Polynesia. After that Bantu people arrived. Then people all around the Indian Ocean began to come to Anjouan and the Comoro Islands. Ahmed Abdou (born 1936) is a Comorian politician. He was prime minister of Comoros from 27 December 1996 to 9 September 1997. Biography He was born in Mutsamudu on the island of Anjouan. Azali Assoumani ( ar, غزالي عثماني; born 1 January 1959) is a Comorian politician and military officer who has served as President of the Comoros since April 2019.
