Tacuarembó ( Guarani: ''Takuarembo'', literally: "Bamboo shoot") is the capital city of the Tacuarembó Department in north-central Uruguay. Location and geography The city is located on Km. 390 of Route 5, south-southwest of Rivera, the capital city of the Rivera Department. Routes 26 and 31 also meet Route 5 within the city limits. The stream Arroyo Tacuarembó Chico, a tributary of Río Tacuarembó, flows through the north part of the city. As of the census of 2011, it is the eighth most populated city of the country. History On 24 October 1831, a presidential decree by Fructuoso Rivera ordered the creation of a city in the region. The task was entrusted to the President's brother, Colonel Bernabé Rivera. Segunda División Profesional is the second division of professional football in Uruguay, established in 1942. The league is sometimes referred to as ''Primera B''. Segunda División was first held in 1942 to replace amateur Divisional Intermedia, establishing a professional league for lower divisions in Uruguay. Paso De Los Toros
Paso de los Toros (''Bulls' Pass'') is a city of the Tacuarembó Department in Uruguay. History The Midland Uruguay Railway began operation in 1889 with a line that ran between Paso de los Toros and Salto. On 17 July 1903, the group of houses of the area known as Paso de los Toros was declared a "Pueblo" (village) named "Santa Isabel" and became head of the judicial section of the same name. On 27 November 1929 it was renamed to "Paso de los Toros" and its status was elevated to "Villa" (town) by the Act of Ley Nº 8.523. On 1 July 1953, its status was further elevated to "Ciudad" (city) by the Act of Ley Nº 11.952. 2010–11 Uruguayan Primera División Season
The 2010–11 Liga Profesional de Primera División season, also known as the 2010–11 Copa Uruguaya or the 2010–11 Campeonato Uruguayo, was the 107th season of Uruguay's top-flight football league, and the 80th in which it was professional. Nacional won their 43rd Primera División title after defeating Defensor Sporting in the season-ending final. Teams Sixteen teams will compete in the Primera División this season. Thirteen teams remained from the 2009–10 season. Atenas, Cerrito, and Cerro Largo were relegated after accumulating the fewest points in the season aggregate table. They were replaced by El Tanque Sisley, Bella Vista, and Miramar Misiones, the 2009–10 Segunda División winner, runner-up, and playoff winner, respectively.
