"Tabloid Magazine" is a song by Australian punk rock band The Living End. It was released in February 2004, as the second single from their third album, ''Modern ARTillery''. The song spent 4 weeks in the Australian ARIA Singles Charts and peaked at No. 57. It appeared at No 66 on Triple J's Hottest 100 poll for 2003. It features a live version of the classic "All Torn Down", plus acoustic versions of "Who's Gonna Save Us?" and "What Would You Do?" and a previously unreleased track, "No Reaction". On the title track frontman Chris Cheney writes, "I have a weak spot for these mags. I am fascinated at the social preoccupation with reading about other people’s lives. They lure you in and become difficult to put down. I think it has a new wave kinda edge". The Living End
The Living End are an Australian punk rockabilly band from Melbourne, formed in 1994. Since 2002, the line-up consists of Chris Cheney (vocals, guitar), Scott Owen (double bass, vocals), and Andy Strachan (drums). The band rose to fame in 1997 after the release of their Extended Play, EP ''Second Solution / Prisoner of Society'', which peaked at No. 4 on the Australian ARIA Charts, ARIA Singles Chart. Livid (festival)
Livid was an Australian alternative rock music festival held annually from 1989 to 2003. Created by Peter Walsh and Natalie Jeremijenko, the original idea of showcasing both the arts (Natalie) and music (Peter) in the one event was standardised as late as October/early November from 1991 until 2003. While it has never been officially cancelled, no festivals have been held since 2003 and neither the organisers or promoters have announced any intention to restart Livid in the future. Headline artists for the festival's most recent dates included Linkin Park, the White Stripes and Yeah Yeah Yeahs in 2003, Powderfinger and Oasis in 2002, and Butthole Surfers, Billy Bragg and Ash in 2001.
