Theater of Youth Creativity (russian: Театр Юношеского Творчества) (TYUT for short) - youth theatre school in Leningrad was founded by Matvey Dubrovin in 1956. The history of the Theater Theater of Youth Creativity was founded by Matvey Dubrovin (1911-1974). He has developed the theory of integrated education of the child through theatrical art. Matvey Dubrovin's method was based on education of a person as a human being through a theater. Initially, the theater occupied small premises at the Art Department of the former Palace of Pioneers (currently Palace of Youth Creations), located in one of the Quarenghi buildings within the territory of Anichkov Palace. There they had a small TYUT's stage with 70 seats. Major productions were shown at the Folk arts Theater (13 Rubinstein St.) in Leningrad. Matvey Grigor'evich Dubrovin ( rus, Матве́й Григо́рьевич Дубро́вин, p=matveˈj grigoˈrjevich dubroˈvin, a=Ru-Matvey Dubrovin.ogg; born July 12, 1911, in Saratov, Russian Empire – died October 22, 1974, in Leningrad, USSR). Evgeny Sazonov
Evgeny Sazonov ( rus, Евге́ний Сазо́нов, p=evgeˈnij sazoˈnov, a=Ru-Evgeny Sazonov.ogg; born 27 September 1936) Leningrad, RSFSR, USSR) is a theater director, teacher and artistic director of Theater of Youth Creativity ( TYUT), Honored Cultural Worker of the RSFSR. Biography Evgeny's first degree was in Pediatrics. He graduated from Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University and for several years worked as a pediatrician. In 1951 he enrolled in a drama club led by Matvey Dubrovin and that determined his subsequent life and career. He graduated from the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute, majoring in directing for drama in Boris Zakhava's group. In 1974, after the death of the founder of Theater of Youth Creativity Matvey Dubrovin, he became the artistic director of TYUT. Alexei Valerievich Devotchenko (russian: Алексе́й Вале́рьевич Дево́тченко; 14 October 1965 – 5 November 2014) was a Russian actor and activist. Born in Leningrad, he studied at the school No. 179 of the Kalinin District (1973-1983). Devotchenko got his first acting experience in Theater of Youth Creativity (1978-1983). Sergei Alexandrovich Solovyov (russian: Серге́й Алекса́ндрович Соловьёв; 25 August 1944 – 13 December 2021) was a Soviet and Russian film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. Lev Abramovich Dodin (russian: Лев Абрамович Додин, born 1944) is a modern Russian theater director, the leader of Saint Petersburg Maly Drama Theater. Biography Lev Dodin was born in Novokuznetsk in 1944. He first experienced theatrical production as a child at the Theater of Youth Creativity (1957-1962) directed by Matvey Dubrovin.
