TV Girl
TV Girl is an American indie pop band from San Diego, California, consisting of Brad Petering, Jason Wyman, and Wyatt Harmon. The group is now based in Los Angeles. Though they failed to break into the critical mainstream, TV Girl has amassed a cult following, and their debut album ''French Exit'' is considered a staple in the indie music scene, being called "remarkably solid" by Bandwagon Magazine and "one of the most focused indie-pop albums of the past decade" by The Daily Targum. TV Girl's 2012 mixtape ''The Wild, The Innocent, The TV Shuffle'' was released and given away for free with an accompanying downloadable coloring book. This mixtape would have been their debut album, but the duo expressed that this work didn't feel official enough to be their first album and felt that the term mixtape was more appropriate. Sampling (music)
In sound and music, sampling is the reuse of a portion (or sample) of a sound recording in another recording. Samples may comprise elements such as rhythm, melody, speech, sounds or entire bars of music, and may be layered, equalized, sped up or slowed down, repitched, looped, or otherwise manipulated. They are usually integrated using hardware ( samplers) or software such as digital audio workstations. A process similar to sampling originated in the 1940s with '' musique concrète'', experimental music created by splicing and looping tape. Coma Cinema was an American indie pop band that was formed by Mat Cothran in 2005. Cothran began writing songs for the band during his high school days in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Spartanburg, but the band was later based in Asheville, North Carolina. Coma Cinema's ''Blue Suicide'' was released in March 2011, on both cassette (via Wonderbeard Tapes) and vinyl (via Fork and Spoon Records), as well as digitally on the band's website. History Cothran began writing songs under the name Coma Cinema early in his teens. After years of performing locally, Cothran released a collection of his recordings in January 2009, entitled ''Baby Prayers''. Jordana Nye, known mononymously as simply Jordana, is an American bedroom pop musician. She has a male chihuahua named ducky and he’s 4 years old Early life Nye's father was an organist at her local church. Upon being recommended by her father, Nye decided to take up an instrument, starting on violin before moving to guitar. Career When Jordana was eighteen years old, she released an album titled ''Classical Notions of Happiness''. The album received positive reviews and garnered enough attention that the record label Grand Jury offered to sign her and re-release the album in 2020. Reverberation (also known as reverb), in acoustics, is a persistence of sound, after a sound is produced. Reverberation is created when a sound or signal is reflected causing numerous reflections to build up and then decay as the sound is absorbed by the surfaces of objects in the space – which could include furniture, people, and air.
