TV Century 21
''TV Century 21'', later renamed ''TV21'', ''TV21 and Tornado'', ''TV21 and Joe 90'', and ''TV21'' again, was a weekly British children's comic published by City Magazines during the latter half of the 1960s. Originally produced in partnership with Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's Century 21 Productions, it promoted the company's many science-fiction television series. The comic was published in the style of a newspaper of the future, with the front page usually dedicated to fictional news stories set in the worlds of ''Fireball XL5'', ''Stingray'', '' Thunderbirds'', ''Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons'' and other stories. The front covers were also in colour, with photographs from one or more of the Anderson series or occasionally of the stars of the back-page feature. Angus Allen
Angus Peter Allan (22 July 1936 – 16 July 2007) was a British comic strip writer and magazine editor who worked on ''TV Century 21'' in the 1960s and ''Look-in'' magazine during the 1970s. Most commonly known as Angus Allan and sometimes credited as Angus P. Allan, he was responsible for original comic strip adaptations of numerous popular TV series. Allan's output was prolific, and virtually all the Look-In comic strips were his creations. Some of his comic works included ''The Six Million Dollar Man'', ''Logan's Run'' and ''Charlie's Angels''. Allan collaborated with many well-known British comic strip artists, including Jim Baikie and Arthur Ranson. Biography Allan was born in Wimbledon, on 22 July 1936 and attended King's College School there. Keith Watson (artist)
Keith Watson (Ormesby, 1 February 1935 – Cheam, 9 April 1994) was a History of the British comic, British comics artist most famous for his work on Dan Dare and TV Century 21. Career Watson joined the studio team of Frank Hampson working on the ''Dan Dare'' strip in Eagle (comic), Eagle in 1958. After Hampson left the strip the following year, Watson worked on ''Captain Condor'' for the rival comic Lion (comic), Lion. He later returned to Dan Dare, becoming the sole artist. Watson worked on the Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons strip in TV Century 21, and the Joe 90 strip in the comic of the same name, and later in the merged "TV21 and Joe 90". He also wrote some of the later episode. During the 1970s, he worked for Dutch comics (Roel Dijkstra) In 1989, he revived the original Dare for the new Eagle comic, which until then had been publishing tales of a descendant. Ronald Turner (3 August 1922 – 19 December 1998) was a British people, British illustrator and comic book artist. Early life and career Turner was born in Norwich, England. He became interested in science fiction at an early age, with numerous works across several media: the novels of H. G. Wells, Edgar Rice Burroughs, and Jules Verne; films and film serials such as ''Metropolis (1927 film), Metropolis'', ''Things to Come'', and ''Flash Gordon (serial), Flash Gordon''; and Alex Raymond's comic strips. Paul Trevillion
Paul Trevillion (born 11 March 1934) is an acclaimed sports artist, whose career spans 70 years. Born in Tottenham, North London, Trevillion, produced artwork for publications like ''Eagle'' while still at school, from the 1960s to the 1980s, Trevillion designed and illustrated pieces for ''Daily Mirror'', ''Daily Express'', '' The Sun'', ''The Daily Telegraph'', ''The Times'', and ''TV Century 21'' and in 2006 revived his cult football cartoon ''You Are The Ref'' - made famous by football magazine '' Shoot!'' in the 1970s - for ''The Observer''. Carlos Pino
Carlos Pino (born 1940) is a Spanish comics artist who has illustrated Spanish, British, and American comics. In a quarter of a century he provided the art for around three hundred issues of ''Commando'', for which he still continues to work (as of December 2020). Pino began his career at the age of 14, when he was paid for art he had submitted to Spanish comic ''Pumby''. In the late 1950s he worked professionally for other comics including ''Duwarin'' before becoming one of the founders of short-lived comic ''Toucan''. Mike Noble (17 September 1930 – 15 November 2018) was a People of the United Kingdom, British comic artist and illustrator, best known for drawing strips like ''Fireball XL5'' for ''TV Century 21''. Biography Noble's father was a stockbroker's clerk who had artistic talent himself. During the war he was evacuated, like many children, but returned to London and endured much of the blitz. After school Noble attended South West Essex Technical College and School of Art where he studied commercial, rather than fine art. At the age of 17 he joined an advertising studio but found the meticulous reproduction of every day objects limited him in scope. Ron Embleton
Ronald Sydney Embleton (6 October 1930 – 13 February 1988) was a British illustrator who gained fame as a comics artist. In the 1950s and 1960s, Embleton also pursued a career as an oil painter, and he exhibited his works widely in Britain, Germany, Australia, Canada and the USA. He was a member of the London Sketch Club and the National Society of Painters, Sculptors and Printmakers, and in 1960 was elected a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. Gerry Embleton
Gerry Embleton is a British artist, born in London. He is best known as an illustrator of military and historic subjects. He has illustrated more than 40 titles for the military publisher Osprey. He is the younger brother of illustrator Ron Embleton. Career Embleton began as a comic strip artist, and worked on ''Look and Learn'' and '' TV Century 21'' in the 1960s. He created the World War II science fiction strip ''Phantom Patrol'' for Odhams Press' ''Swift'' in 1962; it was reprinted as ''The Ghost Patrol'' in '' Smash!'' in 1966. Embleton was the first artist to work on the new ''Dan Dare'' in the revived ''Eagle'', published by IPC Magazines in 1982. John Cooper (1942 – 22 February 2015) was a British comics artist. Cooper was born in Featherstone, West Yorkshire, in 1942. In 1963 he became a freelance artist, and illustrated the comic strips " Captain Scarlet", " Thunderbirds" and "Secret Agent 21" for ''TV Century 21''. In 1975 he co-created "One-Eyed Jack" for '' Valiant'', with writer John Wagner.
